after finishing my 10th std I have taken biology and maths group in my 11th std...my aim and wish is to be a part of ISRO... so my question is.. after choosing biology group can I still go and join any space institutions in my future?...can I join in any of the space colleges?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 31st May, 2021
Hello,

Yes, even if you have to choose Biology in class 11th and 12th, you can still become a scientist.Just make sure that you have Physics, Chemistry and Maths as your subject in 12th and after completing this you can do engineering. And after completing engineering you will be eligible to appear for exams conducted by ISRO,BARC etc. If you can get admission in IITs then that would also be very good and will maximize your chances of getting in any space research institute.

Best of luck

You choose pcm which is physics, chemistry and mathematics for your 12th class great. You have to options for joining ISRO.

  • Otherwise you can join ISRO after completing your graduation in BTech and BSC also.

What is the difference between astronomy and astrophysics. Which is best to join isro?

Souhrid Sarkar 19th Apr, 2021
Hello,

Astronomy can be described as the study of the universe beyond the Earths atmosphere, while Astrophysics can be defined as a branch of Astronomy which concentrates on the physical processes associated with the entities that comprise the universe.

In practice, though, few astronomers make this distinction, as we all use physics in our astronomical studies of the universe.  So, for all practical purposes, Astronomy and Astrophysics are synonymous.

And coming to the next part of the question
Yes,both the streams are best as both the courses works hand in hand.
And,India's premier agency ISRO recruits both scientists (usually with PhD in astronomy or astrophysics, physics, mathematics) to engineers (mechanical, electrical, electronics and computer science).

Hope it helps
Good Luck !!!

Atlast you need to work hard, as the competition is high, but if you have passion then you will definitely get a job at ISRO.

I hope it helps,

How to get into isro through jee advanced? What is the acceptable jee advanced rank to get into IIST?

Abhishek Roy 28th May, 2021

IIST Trivandrum is your best shot at securing a place in ISRO after Graduation. Assuming you are a General Category Aspirant, securing atleast 33-35% of the Total Score, with a Target of 40% in JEE Advanced, greatly increase your chances in securing a seat at IIST Trivandrum in one of its Aerospace or Electronics & Communication Programmes.
