what is the maximum salary of software engineer in ISRO ?????

pri111nah 10th May, 2022

Hi,

Average ISRO Satellite Center Software Engineer salary in India is 4.2 Lakhs per year for employees with less than 1 year of experience to 3 years.

Software Engineer salary at ISRO Satellite Center ranges between 3.5 Lakhs to 4.8 Lakhs per year .

Computer/ Software Engineer is not a designation per se at ISRO. Normally computer people who work here can come through two channels:

  1. Permanent through Centralised Recruitment (ICRB) for the post of Scientist-Engineer ‘SC’. As per 7th Pay Commission, If you join at entry level of Scientist SC, You get Level-10 basic pay of pay matrix. Basic pay will be 56100 plus allowances like DA, TA, HRA etc. It will be around 65k +-.
  2. Temporary/ Contractual Basis: Can directly apply to Pvt. Employer running the contract. Actual salary varies and depends on employer it can be in range of 15k-30k (approx) though actual salary may be different.

Hence, your profile can be of software engineer but designation would be either of two.

ISRO has very different approach towards computer science engineers or any engineer for that matter. ALL are engineers first thence they will be put on for work, wherever there is requirement. You need to learn and grow. If you are lucky you will be worked in your area of interest. Nevertheless the core areas computer science engineers works in isro includes

  1. Software development
  2. Web development
  3. Android or iOS app development
  4. Network design and operations
  5. Data center design and operations
  6. Embedded software development and testing
  7. Network security and information security
  8. Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing
  9. Storage design and maintenance
  10. System and patch management
  11. Video conferencing and facility engineering.
  12. LAN and wan establishement and maintenance
  13. Biometric access control, access control
  14. Procurement of necessary hardware , software
  15. Data processing and operations
  16. Image processing and related operations

Apart from that Cs engineers are involved in

  1. Shift operations for satellite control
  2. Ground checkout
  3. Embedded system design
  4. RF system engineering
  5. Ground system engineering
  6. Launch vehicle system engineering
  7. Payload design
  8. Payload operations

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

how can I become an astronaut in ISRO after 10th?

AVINASH KUMAR 18th Mar, 2022

Dear aspirant hope you are doing well..

Educational requirements for becoming an astronaut:

  • You will have to take up science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as your core subjects after your 10th grade.
  • After that do your Bachelor's degree from a recognised university. You can take up subjects like physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology etc. in your Bachelor's. However, it  is suggested that in your Bachelor's you do courses in aerospace or aeronautical engineering and avionics and then your Master's and Ph.D in the same.
  • Trying scoring the highest possible score in all the competitions or academic examinations you give. Since there are multiple people applying for this and this job is in huge demand, the chances of you getting in are very low and thus to maximise your chances, you should secure maximum possible marks.
  • After your graduation you can join the ISRO by giving the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). For joining NASA will have to appear for the NASA Space Physical.
  • Try getting an internship in these fields so that you know the basics of the field work involved, it will give you the required experience to pacify the needs of the job and will further enhance your chances of employability.
  • It will be advisable to either join the Air Force or Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) prelimnarily and then join an astronaut training programme. This will give you the required field training.

Colleges offering courses in Astrophysics/Aeronautics are:

  • Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO), Bangalore
  • Osmania University, Hyderabad
  • Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam
  • Punjabi University, Punjab
  • IIT Bombay, Mumbai

Hope it's helpful..

Thank you

I wish to pursue my btech in aerospace engineering in iist but i dont want to get into isro. is iist is good option for me.....

Arhana Chakraborty 25th Apr, 2022

See IIST is the only institute in India which have professors who are working professionals at ISRO and are in close quarters with the research of ISRO. You may not be wiling to go for the ISRO but getting your subject education from the professionals who themselves are not only involved with teaching but also in real life Aerospace Engineering research will be a great thing in your professional career. You will get the notion of the real life working and active research going in the field. So if you get a chance to study at IIST, then don't loose it even if you don't want to go for ISRO.

For more information regarding IIST consider the link below:

Which is better Eee or Ece ? I want to apply for isro examination after b tech and also i want to be safe to be able to apply for NHPC jobs? When i look at isro the number of vacancies for electrical engineering is only 5 so does that mean for only ee students or eee students as well?

Piyush 22nd Apr, 2022

hello aspirant,

ECE has more job scope in private sector while EEE has more scope in government sector. So to put it simply, if you are interested in coding, the ECE is better for you . If you are more interested in core electrical and mechanical field then EEE is good.

So, you can go with EEE if you want to get yourself placed in ISRO.

Further, If you have interest in EEE branch, you should definitely go for this as it also has many opportunities in government sector . And if you are planning to go for ISRO then the eligibility criteria includes average minimum of 65% marks or CGPA 6.84/10 (average of all semesters for which results are available) in BE/B. Tech.

You can apply for the Electronics discipline in ISRO recruitment for scientists/engineers in your final years in EEE.

Further, to know more about the EEE branch you can follow the below mentioned link to know more : https://dqxeclau.top/courses/electrical-and-electronics-engineering-course

I hope that this will help.
