Hello aspirant.,
JAM is an extremely tough exam to crack as the availability of seats are low that doesn't mean the exam would be easier.
Now coming to the preparation. As you are in the first year itself make sure you study well for all the subjects so that it would make you easy at the last moment. Keep in check and write notes regarding the important topic which teacher taughts you as most topics would be hard when read at last moment. Make sure you keep your notes assembled at one place. This makes it easy for you whenever you want to revise the topics.
Some of the important things you should keep in mind are:
1. Check always the previous year papers so that you get a detailed version of exam
2. Make sure to keep mock test for every topic you read.
3. Revise everyday small topics whenever you get time.
4. If possible do listen about the topic as it makes things easy for you.
If you think you it would be better if you go for caoching classes then go for it. If you can read at home then you can do it by following these steps.
Hope this helps you
All the best

Hey
IIT-JAM is examination through which one can get admission into Masters program of Sciences and Economics in IITs' and NITs'.
The choice of coaching solely depends on you, you need to see which suits you according to distance, locality, and fees. And you can also consider the results these coaching centers produce every year. But you should focus on self study more, coaching are just for guiding you. Here's the list of IIT-JAM coaching in Delhi, based on result:
Sorry to say but it seems impossible. As there are more than 445 seats available in JAM Physics. Each institute has different number of seats available for JAM physics. Maximum of 40 seats are available in each institute for IIT JAM in Physics. For general category, each institute provides around 20 seats for JAM Physics candidates.
For admission in IITs you need less than 500 rank while for admission in various NITs via CCMN counseling, you require rank less than 2000. So better to go for CCMN ciuncounse and then try for better state institutions and private institutions.
The closing ranks for NITs depend on a variety of factors.According to last years result the closing ranks for Physics for OBC category are give below :
NIT Jamshedpur - 2221
NIT Jalandhar - 2059
NIT Hamirpur - 2261
NIT Agartala - 2098
As you can see the closing ranks for most of the NITs falls under 2300.So it is difficult to get admission with your rank but keep in mind that the cut off ranks vary every year.Check out the link below to know more about the closing ranks :
