If I score 80 percentile in JEE Main will I get CSE in IITs?

Sajal Trivedi 3rd Apr, 2024

Hello aspirant,

Since you haven't specified your category, I'll assume you're from the GENERAL category. Based on the previous year's JEE mains cutoff, your overall rank is estimated to fall between 204600 to 230000. However, your category rank will be considerably lower. Even with this percentile score and rank range, it's unlikely that you'll secure admission to the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch in a reputable NIT. Typically, a percentile score of 98-99+ is required for admission to the CSE branch.

Thank you

Hope this information helps you.

I have score 145 marks , my shift was 27 january 2nd shift (evening) . Can you predict my percentile

Rishitha 7th Feb, 2024

Predicting percentile and rank based on only marks will be quite difficult because it depends on various factors such as

  • Number of students appeared for the exam.
  • Based on the marks obtained by the students.
  • Level of difficulty and different shifts of the JEE examination.

However based on your marks the overall percentile could be between 97.17 - 98.57. And your rank can be between 14629 - 32545 considering the paper level as moderate.

Even so, it might be challenging to forecast your score, percentile, rank, and marks on the JEE exam because of a number of variables, including the number of students who took the test this year, the exam's complexity, and your caste and category.
