How do I proceed with my University applications online ??? I Have selected 5-6 universities and Im writing my SAT on 1 of December.

Shraya Singh 14th Nov, 2018

Hello,

Since you have already selected the universities that you wish to apply to then you probably also know the average SAT score of students which are accepted to the university.

In order to apply for the university programs online, you simply need to go to the 'apply now' link on the web page of the university which you have selected. In order to complete the online application, you need to prepare the following supplementary documents:

  • A statement of purpose or SOP. Some universities and/or programs also ask for a separate personal statement. Write your SOP according to the word limit given by the university beforehand. It generally takes a couple weeks to a few months to draft the perfect SOP.
  • 2-3 letters of recommendation. By now you should have decided which referees from your academic institution you want to write the letters of recommendation. Notify them beforehand and write their contact information in the online application form. The university will then send them a link where they can upload their letter of recommendation and answer a few questions about you. When they have submitted their LOR, you will be notified by an email, always remember to waiver your right to view the recommendation while adding contact details.
  • A professional resume. This is generally 1-2 pages in length. Make sure you list all related achievements/qualifications.
  • 12th standard qualifications and marksheet. You don't need to convert this to a GPA as the university will probably carry out the conversion internally.
  • English language proficiency scores may aslo be required (although some universities waiver this requirement if the applicant has an 85%+ score in English in the 12th standard examinations). Internationally recognized tests include IELTS Academic and TOEFL iBT.

After sitting for your SAT in December, it will take you around 5 weeks to receive your result. By that time you should have completed the remainder of the application. If you feel that your SAT score may not be up to the mark after giving the exam, then the best course of action would be to select a different university with a lower SAT score threshold before you get the result. This is because the LORs may take quite some time for your referees to complete and asking the same people to fill out more on a short notice is not advisable.

After you receive your scores, you will have to sent official SAT scores to the universities which you have selected. Therefore, only send scores to ones where your score matches with the average, otherwise, its best to opt for another university to save both hard work and money during the application process.

Please let me know if you have any further queries.

How much does it costs to study btech in usa, if i get 1400 marks in SAT

Sai 12th Dec, 2018

Hii Adithya Reddy..Both Living expense and tution fee vary between different universities/colleges. Tution fee is between $5000 to $50,000 per year. Costs for food and living are normally between $8,000 and $12,000 dollars per year. In addition to paying tuition, you need money for transportation, course literature and personal expenses. Many students may also be eligible for scholarships, which must be earned, whether through academic merit, athletic talent, or civic performance.

Hope this helps you. All the best.
