Rohan Goyal 2nd Mar, 2020

Hi Uttam,

JEE mains paper is conducted twice a year one in January and one in April. Students can give both the papers and only one also at if they give both the papers in the best of the two is chosen at according to that result you are given college. Best of the two is chosen. It does not depend upon that whether you have given JEE Main paper 1 or not. If you will gain more percentile in JEE Main paper 2 then and that percentile would be considered as your result.

I hope you got the answer.

All the best for your future!

sir i have scored 48.6 percentile even after studying sir is there any scope to improve in April

shubham 22nd Feb, 2020

Dear Sanket

"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them."

It doesn’t matter how hard you study , it all matters how smart you study.

You can surely improve your Percentile in the April exam by following this tips:

  • Devote all your time to revise what you already know. At this point of time there is no point you start with the new topics.
  • Identify the weak topics.
  • Analyse JEE Main January Paper.
  • Improve your exam temperament by practising Paper in a given time frame.
  • Stay POSITIVE as this exam is not the end of life.

If you sincerely follow this tips , you will surely have a great improvement in your percentile.

Hope this helps.

All the BEST !!

sir,i got 93.23 percentile in2020 her mains Inc category .is there any chance to get admission in not colleges.

AYAN MULLA 21st Feb, 2020

HELLO KRISHNA
Congratulations for your result and qualifying JEE mains.
since it is very difficult to predict the exact rank but we do have a backup we have a formula to calculate the expected rank that is (100 – Total percentile) x 869010/100.So according to formula your expected rank for present percentile for January session comes out to be 58831. Now the expected rank might change depending on the no of candidates appearing the april session. For ex if 12 lakh candidate appear the april session then just replace 869010 by 12 lakhs. But if you score above 85 percentile then you have a very decent chance of qualifying jee mains.
I didn't get your category properly but let me assume it to be general by default.
WEll with this percentile there are chances of getting northeastern NITS and Good nits with low branch. BUt getting top 5 NITS seems a little difficult
No worries since you have an april attempt left and most importantly baap of the exams i,e Advance which may directly lead you into IIts.But if you are curious to know that which college you might land into with your percentile then you can use the college predictor link which has following features;

percentile needed (approx) to get 500 rank in ST CATEGORY in jee mains 2020?

Shudhanshu Gupta Student Expert 20th Feb, 2020
Hello. ..
Your rank in JEE mains can be calculated by using the below formula.
(100-your total percentile score)*12,00000/100.
Here 1200000 is the number of candidate assume to be increase in the April session of exam.
Now by reversing the formula if your all India rank is 500 then your expected percentile should be 99.95833333, and remember finding percentile from your   category rank is quite difficult task you can consider your chances on the basis of your expected percentile if we consider 500 as your all India rank not category rank.
We assumed it for the April session of exam.
Best of luck.

My score is 99.6954 prentile how much number i got

manisha.gupta 13th Feb, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

The calculation of the marks & rank would be difficult based on your percentile. You may calculate your expected rank by this formula

100 - your total percentile score is the percentage of people ahead of you. 874469 are the number of candidates appeared for Jan exam. So rank formula is (100 - your total score) X 869010 /100. If the number of candidates for April exam increased to 1200000 then your final rank shall be (100 - your total score) X 1200000/100

Using the formula
(100 - your total score) X 869010 /100

Your probable rank will be 2,647.

You should have decent chance to get a seat in top NITs. You can check your admission possibilities in JOSSA counseling & State counseling to go through with the given below link.

PLEASE HELP- Ill be getting around 25k (97.9 percentile in jan mains)... and Im thinking of entering a good NIT with Civil... How much probability is that Ill be getting upgraded to mechanical or EEE in second year?

MD Neshat Faizy 21st Mar, 2020
Hello Kaushlendra Singh Rathore, it totally depend upon how you score in First year, but you will not be the single student who will try for branch, there are many students who take top NIT and try for branch change so the journey will not be too easy, but as you think to Upgrade to ECE or Mechanical it will not be also too hard as most students try in Computer science and Information Technology. But it totally depend upon your working capacity and the college which you have chosen as some college increases much seat in 2nd year while some very less seats.

jishua thomas 9th Feb, 2020

hello aspirant..

The difference between the jee paper 1 and 2 is that paper 1 is for the btech engineering courses and the paper 2 is for the barch architecture course. If you qualify these exams you will be eligible for the admission in nits as well other colleges accepting these exam scores respectively. you can write the jee advanced exam for iits if you qualify paper1 and if qualified in paper 1 and 2 you can write architecture advanced exam.  the expected cutoff is given below in the link,.

Shudhanshu Gupta Student Expert 3rd Feb, 2020

(100-your total percentile score)*869010/100
Here 8690 10  is the number of candidate appeared for the January session of exam.
Now your expected rank would be:
95591.
As you didn't mention your category and state you belong to so it is quite difficult to provide you the list of colleges where your chances are high so you can use our college predictor tool from the below link and can predict colleges using your hidden details.
