Maliks are originally from Kshatriyas or Rajputs of Jammu and Kashmir. And they are not listed under the Central OBC list. So Malik Community doesn't fall under OBC Category. They fall under General Category. So if you belong to Malik and you belong to any Backward area, you can claim RBA reservation. Or else if your annual income from all sources is less than 8 lakhs per annum, you can apply for EWS reservation. But you do not qualify for OBC reservation or a certificate. Now because you do not have OBC certificate, during document verification when you cannot submit the required documents, the chances are that you will be considered under the General Category/RBA Category and might be put back to the merit list. Please check with the administration about the process as Jammu and Kashmir follows a different admission process than rest of the States.
