which is better b. a or bfa? what type of jobs could I get after pursuing this course after my 12th ?

Niranjana 1st Jul, 2021

Hello,

Your educational and career objectives will determine whether you pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.

You'll take more liberal arts courses with the BA (general studies such as literature, history, etc.). With a BFA, you'll be able to devote more time to rigorous art and design courses.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) is a liberal arts and sciences undergraduate degree programme. The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) is an undergraduate degree that caters to those interested in the visual and performing arts.

Both degrees encompass all of the general subjects that are required by all students, such as literature, math, science, and foreign language programmes.

However, because fine arts is centred on studying various artistic disciplines, a BFA degree has a more specific curriculum than a BA degree.

BA students take electives in theatre, cinema, and television, among other things.Unlike BFA students, who do not take optional courses and instead concentrate on studio classes in one area of study, BFA students do not take elective courses.

Students who have completed a BA degree will have a variety of career possibilities that need creative talent in addition to professionally exercising their major abilities, such as teaching high school art. Students with a BFA can seek employment in their chosen field of further study, such as getting a Master of Fine Arts degree.

After BA-

  • Marketing Manager
  • Operations Manager
  • Executive Assistant
  • Account Manager
  • Marketing Coordinator
  • Human Resources (HR) Manager
  • Marketing Director

After BFA-

  • Art Teacher
  • Writer
  • Fine Artist
  • Art Director
  • Actor

As a concluding note

A bachelor's degree in arts is a general degree, but a bachelor's degree in fine arts is a professional degree.

BFA entails a greater level of artistic engagement. The BA comprises primarily of studio classes.

BA is seen to be more flexible, whereas BFA is thought to be more rigid.

BFA degrees are awarded in specific performance disciplines, such as theatre and music, whereas BA degrees are awarded in topics outside than performing arts, such as theoretical science.

Choice is according to your interest

Hope it helped

All the best!!
