KVPY SB
Hello aspirant,
Once, these two criteria are fulfilled then the candidate is eligible to appear for the aptitude test.
Also, in the 1st year final examination of B.Sc. /B.S. /Math. /Stat./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. you must secure 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks before taking up the fellowship.
So, your 10th marks won’t pose any effect in this.
Hope this helps!
Good luck!
If you start preparing from now then it is very difficult for you to score 90 marks in KVPY SB stream. It is even more difficult if you have chosen PCM stream. Minimum 6 months of preparation is required for you to scoring the qualifying marks i.e., 50-60.
However, nothing is impossible. you have to make sure that your concepts are clear. Give equal importance to class 11th and 12th syllabus. Take special care for Maths if you have opted for PCM , Maths questions come really tough compared to physics and chemistry. If you have taken preparation for JEE Mains then it will be really helpful in KVPY too.
And practice previous year's questions and JEE level MCQ'S. Practice solving them as quickly as possible.
If you haven't done any of it ever then you may not get 90 but you can secure qualifying marks.
I hope my answer helps you. All the very best for your future endeavors!

Hello,
This is suggested to use some other reference books along with NCERT Books .
However, NCERT books are the most preferred for national level competitive exams as these books comprise of topics in easy language which helps to grasp them well.
But reference books are useful for practicing with various questions related to a topic.
So, you should use some reference books and solve previous years KVPY question papers to prepare well.
Hope it helps!!!

Hi Aspirant,
Based on KVPY 2019, this is the required cut off for KVPY SB Stream -
1. General Merit (50.00 % and above)
2. SC/ST/PWD (40.00 % and above)
The merit list is based on the marks obtained by a Candidate. 75 Percentage of the marks in the Aptitude Test and 25 Percentage of the marks in the Interview is taken into consideration.
All the best.
hi,
kvpy SB Stream includes candidates who are pursuing 1st year of the undergraduate program in Basic Sciences during the academic year OF the current year of the exam. This test is meant for those students who are in the 1st year of UG course. The syllabus includes topics from Class X, Class XI, Class XII and 1st year of college. however it is difficult to predict the exact cutoff score to secure a rank below 50. candidates are shortlisted based on overall performance and questions difficulty type of level. try to score more than 80% to achieve a decent rank and follow the syllabus strictly.
Hey!
As pe rthe eligibility rules, only the candidates of first year of graduation can apply for the SB stream of KVPY. And for this they must have atleast 60% (general category) in maths na dscienec subjects in 12 th class. there is no such limitation for the 10th class marks. For more info , visit here;

Thankyou
Dear Aspirant, yes class 10th marks are counted in KVPY. The total aggregate should be 75% (maths science) for general category whereas 65% for the reserved category. If you are giving in class 11th, you fall in SA category otherwise there are 2 more categories 12th-SX, Bsc-SB.
So the total percentage is not taken into account rather maths and science aggregate are considered for registration rest the marks you attain in aptitude and interview results in KVPY will decide your rank.
Hope this was helpful.
