please suggest me which configuration laptop is ok for ECE student for present situation and further purpose

Karam Vir 23rd Nov, 2020

Hi,

As you will be working from an engineer background, you need to atleast have a i5 laptop or more like i7 or i9. The i3 laptop is more basically for ms office use and entertainment while i5 laptop will handle multitasking and programming while i7 will give you more performance. Get the laptop with atleast 8 GB ram or more as it will boost the performance. Along with it, there are two kinds of storage available, one being the HDD other the SSD. With, SSD the performance is also great and blazing fast than HDD. However, there are certain laptops with both SSD and HDD also. You can prefer a laptop with a graphic card of 4 GB or more. Brands like Acer, dell, hp, Asus are really reliable.

laptop is required for cse btech if yes then which to buy what should be their specifications

rachanapbennur 16th Nov, 2020

Hello aspirant!

In the first year of B.Tech, it may not be required much. However, you will need your laptop for the rest of the course, for CS branch. As you know, CSE is all about programming and without laptop or a desktop, it is not possible to do. So I would recommened you to buy a new laptop if you don't have one as you will need it extensively.

Coming to specifications, I would suggest CPU of i5 processor, 16GB RAM. You can use either windows or linux OS, but for coding, LINUX is better. Having dual OS may slow down your laptop. The rest such as display screen etc does not matter much. Coming to company, you can choose Lenevo, HP or Dell.

Will I required a laptop in first year of CSE at IIT Roorkee.

Anurag Khanna 23rd Dec, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

See there is no any compulsion to have laptop in your entire B.Tech. course in any field but if you have laptop and especially when you are in CSE branch then it will be a plus point for you because there is lot of programming in different languages for which laptop is required and not only this but for so many different works like projects, coding, online classes(as per present circumstances) and so on requires a basic laptop. If you have a laptop then your lot of work will become easier otherwise you will get computers in library or computer lab of IIT Roorkee.

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

please tell me how to download an app in Dell laptop i5 10th gen ??

Tunir Sikdar 9th Nov, 2020

Hi,

This is not a difficult task. Also I could be of more help, if you specified which type of "app" you wish to install.

You can do this:

  1. Browse the store to locate the app you wish to install.
  2. Free apps will show an Add to Chrome button on their Details page. If the button specifies a price, you will need to purchase the app.
  3. The app will automatically install and the icon for it will appear under the Apps section of the New Tab page

Hope this helps!

Is it necessary to do neet counselling registration and choice filling at cyber centers/cafe or we can do it on our personal laptop also?

ABHIK SHAW 3rd Nov, 2020

Hello,

Yes absolutely you can do registration and choice filling from your own desktop/laptop also. Also it can be done at cyber centers/cafe but it is recommended and quite safe if done from own laptop or desktop. For candidates who intend to complete the registration procedure from their cellphones, it is advisable that the browser is updated to the current version.

For more details about NEET counselling refer to this article - https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-counselling

What are the qualities to look for before buying a laptop for ece student under 60,000.Please provide complete details about ram, storage, ssd and all

shankhalikamallick 25th Oct, 2020

Hi student!

  1. Decide on your budget

  2. Choose the operating system

  3. Select the processor and RAM

  4. Figure out how much storage you need

  5. Choose the graphics card

  6. Choose battery

  7. Choose the one that is portable

  8. Must-have laptop accessories

Under 60,000 you can get a wide range of laptops. Hp, Dell, Acer, Asus, Lenovo, are few of those widely used by students.

Check for the OS. Windows 10 is one of the most popular operating system today. You may find it pre-installed in pretty much every laptop these days. It is easy to use. You can install any software, be it productivity to entertainment to games.

Laptops run on Intel and AMD processors. Choosing the right one is a bit difficult. If you are going to use your laptop mainly for college assignments, basic game titles and software, an Intel Core i3 or AMD A-series A6 or AMD A8 processor will suffice. Most laptops today ship with 4GB of RAM, which is great if you want to perform daily tasks like using Microsoft Office, browsing the web and watching movies. If you are ready to spend just a little more, you might find options with 8GB of RAM. More RAM means multitasking between heavy software becomes simpler.

As a college student, you’re going to have a lot to store. There are documents, presentations, photos, movies, music, and much more. Most laptops today come with hard drives with capacities ranging from 500 GB to 2TB and above. A 500GB hard drive is sufficient for all the software you’ll need to install, but if you’re going to install game and store movies, you’ll need something higher. If you’re on a budget and settling for a 500GB drive, don’t fret. You can either buy an external hard drive at a later point with higher storage capacities.

The battery on a laptop is as important as the processor and RAM. As a college student, you might need to carry your laptop to college and back. You might not always get a chance to charge it at college. A good capacity battery can last hours on end.

There are some accessories meant for protecting your laptop, while some others for increasing productivity. Carrying a laptop is not as easy as carrying your books. A laptop bag is the first thing you should consider. These bags are designed with compartments that let you securely carry the laptop and accessories.

Windows come with a built-in anti-virus to safeguard your laptop from malware threats and viruses. Some manufacturers offer pre-installed software as well. Most of these are subscription based packages where you pay a set fee every year or so. If you want additional security, you can consider third-party antivirus and internet security software for your new laptop.

Hope this helps.

Thank you

Can you tell me what kind of laptop is excellent for btech cse course?

prince2019ad 23rd Oct, 2020

Hi hope you are doing good.

First of all congratulations that you are are going to be admitted in a BTech course.

Since you are a CSE student you would require a laptop purchase fast and light weight as you would carry it everyday to college.

So choose a laptop which has SSD in it, most laptops come with both SSD and HDD. I would advise you to choose a laptop with 250 GB SSD and 1TB HDD.

Also so choose a processor above i5 8th generation this would ensure that your laptop is fast enough. Don't forget to check out the charger details the laptop should come with at least a 45 watt charger this would ensure that you can get back to your work quickly.

Some additional thing which you can look for a fingerprint sensor and backlit keyboard.

The ideal choice for CSE student is the MacBook.

But if you are not right budget you can look for multiple other options.

Check out the Asus vivobook 14 series. They have awesome specifications within a small budget.
