First of all congratulations that you are are going to be admitted in a BTech course.

Since you are a CSE student you would require a laptop purchase fast and light weight as you would carry it everyday to college.

So choose a laptop which has SSD in it, most laptops come with both SSD and HDD. I would advise you to choose a laptop with 250 GB SSD and 1TB HDD.

Also so choose a processor above i5 8th generation this would ensure that your laptop is fast enough. Don't forget to check out the charger details the laptop should come with at least a 45 watt charger this would ensure that you can get back to your work quickly.

Some additional thing which you can look for a fingerprint sensor and backlit keyboard.

The ideal choice for CSE student is the MacBook.

But if you are not right budget you can look for multiple other options.

Check out the Asus vivobook 14 series. They have awesome specifications within a small budget.

If you want to buy this gamming laptop from amazon then you will get 4 options through which you can buy. If you want only laptop then it will cost you Rs. 63,994 with no ms office included. If you want to add mas office then you need to choose that option and it will cost you Rs. 67,989.

Whether you buy this laptop from flipkart or amazon it doesn't matter because it does not include ms office. You have to purchase ms office or search for other model that have ms office.

Look one digital gadget is totally depand on the users. How the users are used the thing it will be continuous over it. You buy your laptop always basis of your work. As per question you are a computer science student so your basic work is more than others. And you want to first coding. So best laptop is always Apple MacBook Pro. It is the best for anyone. But i know the amount is high. So you can compatible laptop like Asus Zenbook 13 ultra slim laptop, HP Envy 13" , Dell XPS 9570 many mores are present. I'll suggest you just shoe some reviews than you buy a laptop.

It is not so necessary to have laptop for btech 1st year students.In btech 1st year you will only have basic subjects.If you are intrested in programming and if you want to practise programming from 1st year you can buy laptop.go through the basics of programming from now itself.

A laptop or a desktop is an absolute necessity for every engineering student. But, it is not mandatory to have a laptop in the first semester as you may not have your core coding subjects ( it changes with respect to universities and syllabus. If there is a necessity of laptop, the college authorities will inform you). However, from second year onwards having a laptop or a desktop with windows 10 or Linux will be necessary. It is good to have a laptop if you are a coder or need to learn coding basics in the first year itself. Also, if online classes are going to be conducted for long, laptop will be a good option.

So, it is better to first understand your syllabus and buying a good product suitable for your studies later on when you feel the need of using it.

Well your questions is not that clear if applying in National institute of technology you mean by applying in jossa then for sure you can do that from home itself or if it means by confirming the seat then for that you need to go to the center provided by jossa and there the official members will help you to do that for sure you cannot do that from your home .
