Hello there,

With a cutoff score of 189 , securing a seat in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore , through the management quota is unlikely . The minimum cutoff for CSE under the management quota for the 2024–25 academic year was 192 for Tamil Nadu State Board students and 188.5 for CBSE students.

Alternative Options:

  • Other Branches at PSG Tech : Consider branches with lower cutoff requirements, such as Mechanical Engineering , Electrical and Electronics Engineering , or Civil Engineering , where your score may be competitive.

  • PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech) : This sister institution offers similar programs and may have slightly lower cutoff scores. For instance, the minimum cutoff for CSE at PSG iTech was 192 for State Board students and 188.5 for CBSE students.

  • Other Reputed Institutions : Explore other well-regarded engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu that offer CSE programs and have cutoff scores aligning with your academic performance.

    Next Steps:

  • Contact Admissions Offices : Reach out directly to the admissions offices of PSG Tech, PSG iTech, and other institutions to inquire about seat availability and the possibility of admission with your current score.

College management fees in CSE?

Swati 11th Jun, 2025

The management quota fees for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in private engineering colleges can vary significantly based on the college’s reputation, location, and demand for the course.

In general, the total cost of pursuing CSE under the management quota ranges between 8 lakhs and 25 lakhs for the full 4-year BTech program.

This total includes several components:

  • One-time capitation or donation fee: This is a lump-sum amount charged for direct admission without going through the regular entrance exams. It usually ranges from 2 lakhs to 20 lakhs depending on how competitive the college is.
  • Annual tuition fees: These are charged every academic year and can range from 1.5 lakhs to 5 lakhs, varying by college and sometimes by the specific CSE specialization.
  • Other charges: These may include hostel fees, mess charges, exam fees, lab fees, and other miscellaneous costs. These additional expenses can be between 60000 to 1.5 lakhs per year.

It’s important to note that top-tier private institutions in metro cities usually charge higher management fees due to higher demand and stronger placement records.

Also government colleges like IITs, NITs, and IIITs do not offer management quota seats, and admission is only through entrance exams like JEE Advanced or JEE Main.

Before opting for a management quota seat students should carefully evaluate the college’s placement performance, faculty quality and infrastructure and return on investment to ensure the fees are justified.
