Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal
Hello Aspirant,
The rank predicton & admission possibilities would be difficult as Marking scheme has been changed, Previous year the Marking scheme was of total marks 200 but this year it is 800, Four marks will be awarded for every correct answer.
To know about the rank & admission possibilities I would suggest you to wait till it officially announced.
Good Luck!
Hi Aspirant
This is Ritika
Good morning
Hope you are doing well and coming to your question as the trend of MIt has changed this year there exam was taken out of 800 and involvement of negative marking is also there.
So it is difficult to predict till cutoff don't come out or any information from the official website.you have got almost 25% .Last year 140/200 was sufficient to get desired branch in MIt i.e 70%.From involvement of negative marking there will be decrease in % of marks .You may get seat in MIt or may not be can't predict now .
Hope my answer helped you
Thank you
Hello Prakhar,
For the Main campus, CSE has the highest cutoff with the last seat going at around AIR 2700–2800.
As the marks are relative every year, it's hard to pinpoint an exact score but something along the lines of 135–140 should be enough in my opinion. Your rank will be decided by a number of other factors like availability of seats, a number of applicants to name a few, apart from your performance in the exam (i.e. in each section of MU OET). So one can't exactly predict ranks based on MU OET marks as the marks will be normalized by the university while calculating ranks. So, according to your marks yes you have a great chance of getting CSE in MIT Manipal.
However, Manipal allows three attempts for MU-OET out of which best one will be taken into final consideration, so even if you didn’t perform well in the first attempt, you will still have two chances for improvements.
Good luck!
Hello Waseem,
I am going to tell you about the level of questions subjectwise -
MATHS: The questions are of simple to moderate difficulty, but some calculations might be a bit lengthy. Chapters which could be seen in most of the questions were Circles, Parabola, Hyperbola, Ellipse (Coordinate Geometry), Determinants/Matrices, Integration (d/Id), Differentiation, Limits, Diff Eqns, Sets, Complex Nos(just 2–3 questions).
If you'll do these chapters then you can attempt at least 55/70 questions.
PHYSICS: Physics is generally easy and the calculations are also simple and straight forward. If you are weak in Physics then don't worry this section won't affect your score to a great extent. Chapters seen in most of the questions were Magnetic Effect of Electric Current (MEEC), Electrostatics, Force(many questions were from this topic), Rotational Dynamics(1 question I guess), Thermal Expansion, KTG, Current Elec(Many questions from this topic too, most of them were related to Capacitors).
CHEMISTRY: Nothing to worry about in this section too. Most of the questions are simple and pretty straightforward, questions involving calculations (Physical Chem) are easy too. Chapters: Organic(Aldehydes should be done properly), Basic Concepts, Solutions, Equilibrium, Thermodynamics, Electrochemistry, Kinetics, Coordination compounds.
ENGLISH: The questions are related to your sentence forming skills. No grammar skills, antonyms, synonyms, syllables, modal axillary, etc related info is needed.
Finally, I'll just suggest one thing, just going through GTB(government textbooks), NCERT books, etc [whichever you prefer] is enough to crack MUOET. The syllabus may have chapters which were there in JEE but the depth required in each chapter is very very less and therefore just going through the GTB is enough to score good marks in the paper.
Hiii..
your rank cannot be predicted as as this year the pattern has been changed completely, earlier the test was held out of 200 marks and there was no negative marking. Also your rank we depend on the total number of students appeared for the exam. So I would suggest you to wait for the result which will be announced in the first week of May.
Hope you get it
