Sharon Rose Student Expert 25th Mar, 2021

Hello,

As the percentile scored in March session is highest we will consider the percentile score in JEE Main March session to predict the colleges in which he may get seat. According to our JEE Main rank predictor tool the overall expected rank to be in between 163680 - 184000. To check the overall percentile and rank you can use our JEE Main rank predictor tool:

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor/

B.Tech Bio-Chemistry is not offered in any NITs. B.Tech Biotechnology, B.tech Bio Medical Engineering, B.Tech Biotechnology and Bio Chemical Engineering courses are offered in various NITs. Also with such rank it is very difficult to get seat in NIT. The ideal score percentile score must be minimum 97 to have decent chances to get seat in NIT.

my nta score in feb was 61.01 and in march 53.17 please guide how to take it to 99 percentile and how to cover my syllabus in this time

Ashish Kumar Verma 26th Mar, 2021

Hello Dear,

To score 99 percentile you need to score 130-140 marks. first you must solve last 15 years jee mains papers. Evaluate how many marks you are getting in last year papers.

  • For MATHEMATICS if you solve EXEMPLAR textbooks(11th, 12th) along with the usual NCERT textbooks plus one more objective textbook(Arihant, FIITJEE study material ,etc.), you will be able to do 80–90% of the paper very well.
  • PHYSICS if you solve HC Verma along with the EXEMPLAR and NCERTtextbooks, you will be able to do 75–80% of the paper very well.
  • CHEMISTRY in JEE Main & Advanced is set directly from NCERT. So, if you read both the 11th and 12th NCERT textbooks of Chemistry religiously, you should be able to handle the JEE paper astonishingly

Sir, despite scoring 170 marks on march 18,morning shift, I got 93.8 percentile. what may be the reason

Subhrajit Mukherjee 25th Mar, 2021

These can be due to normalization amongst all the shifts. In general if your level of the paper is easy (as per NTA) then its expected that you will get less percentile than the other with harder questions.

So this can be the explanation for which it is possible.

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!

I got 71.2 percentile in her march, in which colleges am I eligible for....

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 25th Mar, 2021

Hi

I am considering that you belong to general category

With 71.2 percentile  ,

And  with above predicted  rank , you have extremely low chances in NITs ,IIITs  etc on the basis of past year closing ranks/cutoff trends.

You may not even qualify jee main

For example,

In 2020, qualifying cutoff for general category was 90.3765335 and jee main 2021 expected qualifying cut off percentile is 90-95 percentile.

You can check the same at our page the link is provided below

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff

You may try  for Government Engineering College through  state counselling but your chances are low there as well. With your predicted rank,  you have chances for private Engineering College like

  • Sharda University

  • Lovely Professional University, Phagwara

  • UPES Dehradun

Somebody please explain me why i get 45 percentile only on 42 marks in jee mains 18 march shift 1.when i predicted it said on 42 i get 68-72 percentile but its not.why?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 25th Mar, 2021

Hello,

Percentile is the total percentage of candidates who have scored equal marks or less than you. The marks scored in each subject and the overall marks scored is taken into consideration. And the marks vs percentile score depends on the highest marks scored by a candidate, difficulty level of the exam, total number of candidates appeared, tie breakers etc. The predicted score before the result and the final score varies because the predicted percentile score is based on previous year data and the numbers keep changing for the factors that determine the percentile.

With 45 percentile you may not have chances to qualify in JEE Main if you belong to General/OBC-NCL/EWS/SC category. You may have to prepare for JEE Main upcoming session and score above 90 percentile to have decent chances to get seat in a college. The qualifying cut off percentile for JEE Main 2020 was as follows

  • General:90.3765335
  • OBC-NCL:72.8887969
  • EWS:70.2435518
  • SC:50.1760245
  • ST:39.0696101
  • PWD:0.0618524

Cut off changes every year depending on various factors like number of seats available, difficulty level of exam and number of candidates appeared etc.

We have JEE Main knockout package. If you want to prepare for JEE Main upcoming sessions you can check the details and enroll
