my avore is 105 in jee 17th march amd percentile is only 86 how it is possible?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 25th Mar, 2021

These can be due to normalization amongst all the shifts. In general if your level of the paper is easy then its expected that you will get less percentile than the other with harder questions.

So this can be the explanation for which it is possible.

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!

i got in March 18 second shift nta score 38.238915. what is my percentile? I am general catagory.

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 25th Mar, 2021

Hi

NTA score is nothing but your percentile.

So, your percentile is 38.238915.

With 38.238915 percentile,

you have no chance in government colleges like NITs/IIITs etc with above predicted rank.

You may not even qualify JEE main with 38.238915 percentile

JEE mains 2021 expected qualifying  CUT OFF percentile to be eligible for JEE advanced is given below for different categories on the basis of past year trends :

my sister scored 96 Marks as per our calculation ( RawScore) and she got 47 percentile!!!! in the march session 18th 2nd shift. Can anyone please tell if ots right or there is some error.

Sharon Rose Student Expert 25th Mar, 2021

Hello,

Percentile score is the total percentage of  candidates who have scored equal marks or less than you in the session. The marks scored in each individual subject and the overall marks scored will be considered. And the marks vs percentile score trends depends on the highest marks scored by a candidate, difficulty level of the exam, total number of candidates appeared, tie breakers etc. The predicted score before the result and the final score varies because the predicted percentile score is based on previous year data and the numbers keep changing for the factors that determine the percentile.  And the result that is published by NTA is fair and final. There will not be any discrepancies in the results.

A percentile score of 47 may not have chances to qualify in JEE Main if you belong to General/OBC-NCL/EWS/SC category. You may have to prepare for JEE Main upcoming session and score above 90 percentile to have decent chances to get seat in a college. The qualifying cut off percentile for JEE Main 2020 was as follows

  • General:90.3765335
  • OBC-NCL:72.8887969
  • EWS:70.2435518
  • SC:50.1760245
  • ST:39.0696101
  • PWD:0.0618524

Cut off changes every year depending on various factors like number of seats available, difficulty level of exam and number of candidates appeared etc.

We have JEE Main knockout package. If you want to prepare for JEE Main upcoming sessions you can check the details and enroll

Come to your chances of getting NIT

With 54.17 percentile

  • Your rank will be around 468841 - 527045   as pet our rank Predictor at

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

Your sc rank will be around 38,000.

With this rank you have very low chance  in any NIT

For example,

Your profile suggest that you are from Maharashtra so you will be eligible for home state quota in NIT Nagpur

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, the closing rank for SC category in NIT Nagpur was 6779 sc rank and it was for mining engineering

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

So, I would suggest you focus on your preparation for remaining sessions of jee main so that you can improve your score   ,  go through chapters , practise questions and then revise them, go through mock test paper sample papers and previous year question papers as it will let you know your preparation level and and weak areas so that you can work on them and perform well in your examination. To help you in your application you can use our jee main knockout for which link is provided below
