I scored 71 marks in JEE mains 2021, march session. What will be my percentile?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 22nd Mar, 2021

Hello,

According to our JEE Main rank predictor tool your overall percentile is expected to be in between 86.24 - 89.36 and overall rank to be in between 112530 - 126500. To check the expected percentile and rank you can use our JEE Main rank predictor tool

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor/

You have not mentioned your category assuming that you belong to general category it is difficult to qualify in JEE main based on previous year qualifying cut off percentile. The qualifying cut off percentile was as follows category wise for JEE Main 2020

  • General:90.3765335
  • OBC-NCL:72.8887969
  • EWS:70.2435518
  • SC:50.1760245
  • ST:39.0696101
  • PWD:0.0618524

The cut off is subjected to change depending on factors like difficulty level of examination, total number of seats available, total number of candidates appeared, previous year cut off etc. If you belong to reserved category such as EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PWD you may have chances to qualify in JEE Main which means you might be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. SO if you are aiming to get seat in IIT you can start your preparation for JEE Advanced. But if you belong to general category you need to prepare for JEE main remaining sessions and try to score minimum 98-99 percentile to have decent chances to get seat in NITs/IIITs/GFTIs. To know the colleges in which you have chances to get seat you can use our JEE Main college predictor tool

Sir, I have scored 197 marks in Jee main March 18th morning session. What would be my percentile and ranking and the chances of getting in Nits in Computer Science. Thanks.

Abhishek Roy 22nd Mar, 2021

With 197/300 in JEE Main March session, you have fair chances in securing a Percentile anywhere between 99.3-99.6, further subject to relative toughness, difficulty and competition of your session. Assuming you are from General Category, with this percentile you may assume a Rank anywhere between 5-7k, hence you do have options to study CSE at some of the Institutes below

CSE/IT NIT Bhopal, NIT Kurukshetra, NIT Surat, NIT JSR, NIT Durgapur, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Patna, BIT Mesra, IIEST Shibpur, PEC Chandigarh, NIT Raipur, Most IIITs as well as IT/ECE at IIIT Allahabad.

i got 177 marks in jee march 18th shift 1, is it a safe score?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 22nd Mar, 2021

Hello,

As per our JEE Main rank predictor tool your overall percentile will be in between 94.68 - 96.82 approximately considering the difficulty level was moderate. Your over l expected rank will be in between 51150 - 57500 approximately . To check the rank and percentile you can use our JEE Main rank predictor tool: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor/

You haven't mentioned your category assuming that you belong to general category yoh may qualify in JEE Main because the cut off was 90.3765335 percentile for general category in 2020. However, cut off is subjected to change, it may increase or decrease depending on the number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of exam and number of seats available etc. The qualifying cut off for JEE Main 2020 is as follows category wise

  • General:90.3765335
  • OBC-NCL:72.8887969
  • EWS:70.2435518
  • SC:50.1760245
  • ST:39.0696101
  • PWD:0.0618524

Considering your overall rank it is difficult to get seat in NITs/IIITs/GFTIs if you belong to general category. You need to score minimum 98-99 percentile. However, you have decent chances to qualify for JEE Advanced so you can prepare for JEE Advanced.

You can use the link below to predict the colleges in which you may have chances other than NITs, IIITs and GFITs
