Hii Souvik.Your marks are little less.As per the previous year cutoffs you have no chance of getting any NITs.You might get NITs from North-east which are newer. You should apply for state government colleges or prepare well for JEE Advanced. So,stay motivated. All the best

Hello, Im pursuing my UG course in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Im interested in pursuing higher studies but im unable to...

Arnab Ghosh 5th Apr, 2019
Hi Valu,
As you mentioned for GRE, so go for it. It is most prestigious exam for BTECH students.
Also yes definitely you will get your stream as well. & when it comes to abroad, you will get more opportunities & exposure.
So, if you can able to go abroad, so please go abroad. & do internships.
& when it comes to choosing university, first you score well in GRE, then you will have lots of time to think.
I will recommend you to go for CANADA or USA. Because, in that countries specially in USA, lots of Top companies headquarters are their & you will get a great kick in career from the beginning.
Hope you get it.
Best of luck for your future.

Which is the best? Mechatronic / Computer science engineering / Electrical & electronics engineering??????

Shravan Hari 17th Mar, 2019

Hi Infinite, coming to the question, there is no such called the best among various engineering branch as each branch has its own advantage and barriers. Mechatronics is nothing but the combination of Mechanical and Electronics and it is a wonderful field for research and higher advanced studies, placements may not be that attractove, but it gives a dual advantage of being able to be part of either Mechanical or Electronic domain. Now coming to Computer Science engineering, you get to learn the in and out of most of the programming languages and if you find yourself interested in the field of coding, you can join here as you would have a very wide scope in getting jobs clearly and getting high package salary this is one of the best fields of engineering. Now electrical and electronics engineering has a wide scope in PSU sectors where you can get to work in many government sector company like BHEL, ONGC, NPCL etc. You can also learn a lot of electrical as well as electronic subjects and makes it easy to drive through to any sector. But one thing here is getting into core sector job is not an easy task and one would need to strive hard to make it to core company. You can also join IT companies using mechatronics or eee and at the same time can do M.Tech or M.S abroad as well as join many PSU jobs. Computer science has less scope in the field of PSUs but have a wide scope for job in IT sector. If you really have an interest to do research and advances, then join Mechatronics, if you have interest in coding and IT sector, then it is Computer Science amd if you have interest towards, electrical circuits electronic devices, and PSUs, then choose EEE.

how devevolop my basic skills in electronics ,i am from first year

Alistair Toppo 9th Mar, 2019

Hi Naseer!

You can try for learning basic computer language, mainly python or JAVA. Practise EXCEL SPREADSHEET or POWERPOINT. You can also try photoshop or any digital painting skills.

Apart from this during your vacation try to get a training from any organisation maybe private or government run , by this you would be able to put up in your resume and help in a long run.

all the best

cheers!

hello mani,

yes,you can do b.tech after diploma.as a diploma holder you're having 2 choices

1.you can start your b.tech engineering from direct second year-lateral entry

2.otherwise you can start from a scratch(first year)-as a fresher

the lateral or fresher entry is depend on the institution in which you wanna take admission.some may conduct separate university entrance exam or some colleges will give based on the merit or state/central entrance exam for lateral entry.so all depends on the institution.

I had done BE in electronics engineering from Mumbai university and want to do ME in ( computer or electrical engineering) is that possible

Amatul Munazza 22nd Feb, 2019
Hi Mishra,
Greetings!
Yes, But it will be slightly difficult. A ME or M.Tech CSE is slightly demanding as you will be going up against people with a sound knowledge of fundas of programming, computing and with a project behind them in that.

Why are you doing this?

If this is because you wish to increase your chances of getting a software job, then attack the problem head on in the first semester itself. Do a lot of computing courses online and increase your knowledge and practical skills.

If it is because you wish to get a research career in CS, focus on that immediately. Look at domains where you are on stronger ground like IOT, Robotics, Sensory networks.

If it is to get a job in teaching/allied disciplines, be careful as many institutions do not recruit cross major students.

Best wishes
Good luck!
