No there is no need to have mathematics  as an additional subject in your class 12th for pursuing Bsc focused in Biotechnology  course. See, there is no need to have mathematics but the candidates must have physics, biology and chemistry as main subjects in class 12th for pursuing this course.

You can take all the four subjects i.e. Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry if you are really confused to choose medicine or engineering. However, you cannot choose the subject after 11th.
