I score 76% in boards exam but my marks in pcm is 74.so can I eligible for IIT if 75% is not removed? physics:-72 mathematics:-74 chemistry:-72 English:- 78 Hindi:-85 TOTAL NUMBER:-381(76%) so can I eligible for IIT because I only score 74 marks in pcm but total marks is 76%? If 75% is not removed??

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 3rd Apr, 2022

Hi

You don't need to worry because don't need 75  % in PCM aggregate rather you need 75 % in 12th boards with following 5 subjects :-

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • Mathematics

  • A language

  • Any subject other than listed above

So, even if 75% criteria would have been there you would be eligible

For your reference

JEE  advanced eligibility criteria is given below :-

---------------------) Qualification required :- One needs to pass 10+2/ or equivalent with the following 5 subjects:-

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • Mathematics

  • A language

  • Any subject other than listed above

Those appearing for 10+2/equivalent are also eligible.

---------------------) Minimum marks in 12th /equivalent :- you need to pass your class 12th with at least 75% marks in aggregate in class 12 if belong to general or obc category or at least 65% marks if belongs to SC/ST or must be in the top 20 percentile in class 12 examination.

††† IMPORTANT NOTE :- Considering pandemic in order to give relaxation. The minimum percentage barrier of 75 % - 65% has been lifted off for jee advanced 2022. It means all you need to be eligible is to have at least passed 12th .

----------------------) 12th /equivalent passing year :-  You can give JEE advanced examination for the maximum of consecutive 2 years starting from the year of appearing for your 12th examination i. e to be eligible for JEE advanced 2022 your 12th board examination appearing year should be either 2022 or 2021

††† IMPORTANT NOTE:-

Considering pandemic, there's one time measure for students who had passed 12th in 2021 & 2020.

  • For 2021 passed :- Those 2021 passed students who had qualified jee main 2021 and had registered for jee advanced 2021 but couldn't appear in the examination are directly eligible for jee advanced 2022 without appearing in jee main 2022.

  • For 2020 passed :- 2020 12th passed students are also eligible for  jee advanced 2022 after qualifying jee main 2022 provided they have appeared in only one of 2020 or 2021 jee advanced or none of them.

Details about it is available at:- https://news.careers360.com/jee-advanced-2022-extra-attempt-iit-entrance-exam-candidates-who-missed-in-2020-2021-jeeadv-ac-in

-----------------------) There is upper age limit, according to which to be eligible for jee advanced 2022, you should be born on or after 1st October 1997. There is 5 years of age relaxation for SC, ST and PwD so candidates of SC/ST /PWD needs to be  born on or after October 1, 1992.

-----------------------) you must qualify JEE main  2022 to be eligible for jee advanced 2022.

To give you an idea of the jee main qualifying cut off percentile to be eligible for jee advanced,  jee main 2021 cut off percentile to be eligible for jee advanced 2021 is given below :-

  • general :-87.8992241 percentile

  • EWS:- 66.2214845 percentile

  • OBC-NCL :- 68.0234447 percentile

  • SC :- 46.8825338 percentile

  • ST:- 34.6728999 percentile

  • PWD :- 0.0096375 percentile
