Mathematics
Hi aspirant,
There are multiple career options that you can look into with the subjects you have. Although there are several examinations you can appear for but it is important for you to decide the field you want to enter. Following below is the list of entrance examination that you will be eligible to appear for:
Although the best option would be to first complete a bachelor's degree in any of the one subject which will open many more gates for you.
Hope it helps!!
Hi, your aggregate should be minimum 50% considering that you belong to open category. In mathematics you will need more than 60% to be able to qualify. Also, you will need 60% in a language that you have appeared in college. There is no age limit for B.Sc. students. Hop this helps.
Hello,
As long as a candidate possess strong hold on mathematics, it's definitely a good option and scoring subject, unlike say in case of general studies papers mathematics as a subject require consistent practice, it's also a static subject, the questions asked in the exam are subjective by nature, it's repeated as well, so going through previous year paper helps a lot regarding this, for example a maths graduate or say an engineering graduate will find it comparatively easier to have maths as optional since they have studied the subject at graduation level unlike say some one who have studied it till 10th or 12th standard, although there is no restrictions in having any subject as optional in upsc, but what happens say in if you choose subject which was not part of your graduation studies, you will be required to put in extra efforts as you have to start afresh, it's also not always that a person will always go for graduation level subjects as optional, there are exceptions, choosing an optional depends on various factors such as primarily your interest in the subject, how vast is the syllabus especially if you haven't studies the subject at graduation level, what about the availability of study materials etc, so these are important factors prior to deciding whicch subject to go for optional.
You can prepare for IIT JAM from first year itself in gradual yet consistent manner, however you have to sustain the dedication which can become quite challenging for a lot of students, you can do certain things like getting acquainted with the exam pattern, marking scheme, important topics, syllabus etc, keep a print out of syllabus with yourself, that comes handy during preparation process, the entrance test is conducted for three hours having three sections, there will be a total of 60 questions for 100 marks, visit our page at https://university.careers360.com/articles/jam-exam-pattern to know more details regarding this, you can get acquainted with the syllabus at https://university.careers360.com/articles/jam-syllabus, you have to make a timetable once you get into serious mode based on daily, weekly and monthly schedule, choose appropriate study materials, and keep the options limited, since practice is key towards excellence especially in case of maths, hence this is something which you cannot skip at any point, and make notes pertaining to formulas, tips and tricks etc, this will help you a lot during revision, go through previous year papers at https://university.careers360.com/articles/jam-sample-papers, this will make you acquaint with exam pattern, marking scheme, important topics, weightage etc, and through consistent practice you can analyze your level of preparation and thereby improve your speed, and calculation.
I hope you are doing well, If you are talking between Just CS and Msc Mathematics then both these courses are completely different. No similarities between them except only that part of Maths is taught in CS which are essential for coding. But if you are talkin about Msc Maths and Mathematics and computing then,
The difference between masters in mathematics and masters in mathematics & computing is that the you get to learn how a computer works from the Mathematics point of view.
When you are doing masters on Mathematics you are gonna learn, fundamental and analytical parts of mathematics and mostly about pure mathematics such as Real analysis, Higher Algebra, Topology, geometry, etc but when you do masters on Mathematics and Computing you are gonna study only the mathematical portions which have direct or partial relations with Computer like Discrete mathematics, Game theory, Algorithms, Languages, etc. which will help you to write a code and be programmer.
I hope you find this information helpful. I wish you all the best for your future.
Good Luc
Hi Abhishek,
According to NTA, any student who has qualified 12th or its equivalent exam in the year 2020, 2021 or about to pass in 2022 is eligible for appearing in JEE Mains if he had Physics, Mathematics and either one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology as technical/vocational/optional subject. Please find attached the detailed eligibility criterion for qualifying JEE Mains right here:

Eligibility for JEE Advanced depends on the student's performance in JEE Mains and highly on the cutoff for Mains for the specific year and a few other factors. Find every details for qualification for JEE Advanced- cutoff, age limit, number of attempts, 12th boards identified by NTA, marks for 12th and everything else, right here:

Thank you. Hope that helped :)
IIT Kharagpur is the oldest IIT in India. The college offers the course M.Sc Mathematics and Computing Integrated is a 5 years integrated program which have 69 seats. The admission to the course is provided on the basis of JEE Advanced . The course have quite a good demand and the placements rates are quite good. So you can obviously go for it without any doubt and it will give you also a edge to the research.

Hi there!
Central University Common Entrance Test, CUCET is held as you know for admissions in various courses offered by the participating central universities. The registration and counseling process of 2021 has been started. Some of the universities have already released their cutoff marks. I would suggest you to keep actively visiting the official website of the Central University of South Bihar, you will be notified about the cutoff of MSc Mathematics very soon. The marks secured by you are fairly good and there is a high probability that you will secure a seat in your desired course. Just ensure that you keep visiting the website for latest updates.
All the best.!
As i am a cs student, i would like to tell you that maths cover a major portion of each engineering. We had linear algebra in 1st semester, differential equation in 2nd, M3 in third semester and probability in 4th semester. Maybe, there is less syllabus of maths in 3rd and 4th year, but you need to study maths in cs branch also.
I hope you are doing well, It depends which CS you are talking about. If you are talking about CS (Company Secretary) which is related to commerce stream then Maths is not compulsory in this course but if you are talking about CS(Computer Science) Then there would be maths as a subject. It may vary college to college. In some colleges they keep maths till first year and in some till last year. So yeah there would be Maths in Computer Science.
Good Luck
