will i get mechanical engineering branch in category 1 or 2 with a rank of 8305 ?

Rohan 10th May, 2025

With a JEE Advanced rank of 8305, securing a seat in Mechanical Engineering under Category 1 (General) or Category 2 (OBC/EWS) at top IITs is unlikely.

However, you may have chances in NITs through JEE Main (not Advanced).

my rank 1.5 lakh ews catagory ,and catagory rank 22k home State odisha can I get any nit mechanical branch

With a general rank of 1.5 lakh and an EWS category rank of around 22,000 from Odisha, getting a seat in the Mechanical branch at an NIT can be challenging, especially in the top-tier NITs. However, your chances may improve in newer or less competitive NITs, particularly in the home state quota. NIT Rourkela, being in Odisha, gives you an advantage under the home state quota, but Mechanical is still a highly demanded branch there, so the cutoff is usually much lower than your rank.

You might still have a slim chance in lower-demand NITs like NIT Meghalaya, NIT Mizoram, NIT Nagaland, or NIT Arunachal Pradesh in spot or special rounds. These rounds often have slightly relaxed cutoffs, especially for EWS candidates. keep checking JoSAA counseling and consider using all rounds, including special ones, to improve your chances.

I got 38230 rank in VITEEE 2025, can i get mechanical engineering at vit vellore and vit chennai in category 1? Please anyone help me out here.

Rohit singh 8th May, 2025

Hey there! With a rank of 38,230 in VITEEE 2025, getting into Mechanical Engineering at VIT Vellore or VIT Chennai might be a bit of a stretch, especially since those programs are pretty competitive. Generally, the cutoff ranks for those branches tend to be lower, so you might want to explore other options or branches at VIT. But hey, don't lose hope! Sometimes there are surprises in the counseling process, so keep your options open and stay positive! Good luck! For Detail call-9962747850

rank required for joining mechanical in ecet

Kishan Bhakat 5th May, 2025

Hi

The rank required for Mechanical Engineering in ECET (Engineering Common Entrance Test) will vary depending on factors like the college , category , and previous year trends .

However, as a general guideline:

  • For top colleges : A rank within 1,000 to 2,500 is often required for a good chance of admission.

  • For good colleges : A rank within 2,500 to 5,000 could be sufficient.

  • For other colleges : A rank within 5,000 to 10,000 may still offer you a chance at admission.

Keep in mind that these cutoffs change every year based on competition and the number of applicants. It’s recommended to check the previous year’s cutoffs for better accuracy.

Hope this helps you!

can a candidate join BE mechanical via lateral entry after 3 years of tool and die making diploma form GTTC

Gregary mathew K.B 10th May, 2025

Yes, a candidate who has completed a 3-year Tool and Die Making Diploma from GTTC (Government Tool Room and Training Centre) can join a BE in Mechanical Engineering through lateral entry in many engineering colleges, including those in Tamil Nadu, provided they meet the following conditions:

Lateral Entry Eligibility:

  1. Diploma in Engineering : The candidate must have completed a 3-year diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (like Tool and Die Making).

  2. Minimum Marks : Typically, a minimum of 50% to 60% in the diploma is required, but this can vary based on the institution.

  3. Lateral Entry Admission : Lateral entry typically allows direct admission to the second year (3rd semester) of the B.E./B.Tech program. This is possible at various engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu, including government and private institutions.

Admission Process:

  • Entrance Exam : Some colleges may have a lateral entry entrance exam (like TNEA Lateral Entry in Tamil Nadu).

  • Direct Admission : In some cases, colleges may admit based on marks obtained in the diploma and previous academic performance.

Conclusion:

With a Tool and Die Making Diploma from GTTC, you can join a BE Mechanical Engineering program through lateral entry in many institutions, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria and entrance requirements of the specific college.

can a candidate join BE mechanical via lateral entry after 3 years of tool and die making diploma form GTTC

Akansha Sharma 7th May, 2025

Yes, a candidate can join BE Mechanical Engineering through lateral entry after completing a 3-year Tool and Die Making diploma from GTTC. Lateral entry allows diploma holders to get direct admission into the second year of the BE program. However, the candidate must clear the required entrance exam, like DCET in Karnataka, and meet the eligibility criteria set by the college or university. This pathway helps diploma students continue their education and gain a full engineering degree.

If you have any doubt you can ask .

can a candidate join BE mechanical via lateral entry after 3 years of tool and die making diploma form GTTC

Tanisha chaudhary 10th May, 2025

HEY THERE!!

Yes, a student with a 3-year Diploma in Tool and Die Making from GTTC (Government Tool Room and Training Centre) can join BE (Bachelor of Engineering) or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering through lateral entry under some conditions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Relevant Diploma: The diploma should be in a relevant subject stream. Tool and Die Making is considered to be strongly linked with Mechanical Engineering, and most of the institutions accept such diplomas on lateral entry to Mechanical Engineering courses.
  • Minimum Marks: The majority of the colleges require an aggregate of minimum 50%–60% marks in the diploma program.
  • Recognition: The diploma must be from a recognized institution, and GTTC is one such institution.
  • Entrance Exams: Admission is normally on the basis of state-level entrance exams or merit, depending on the college or university.
  • Direct Second-Year Admission: Lateral entry allows diploma holders to enter the second year of the BE/B.Tech course directly, cutting down the engineering degree to 3 years for them instead of the regular 4.

Additional Notes

  1. GTTC itself offers BE courses in Precision Manufacturing and Tool Engineering, but for Mechanical Engineering, you would enter the other colleges offering lateral entry in that stream.
  2. Diploma in Tool and Die Making from GTTC enables you to enter Mechanical Engineering through lateral entry in most engineering colleges as the diploma is acceptable and applicable.

In short: You can enter BE Mechanical Engineering via lateral entry after a 3-year Tool and Die Making diploma from GTTC, provided you meet the college or university marks and entrance exam criteria
