Saurabh Yadav 27th May, 2025

HIi,

Mechanical engineering is a field that deals with designing, building, and fixing machines. It includes many things like cars, planes, robots, and even things like air conditioners. Automobile engineering is just one part of it, focusing only on cars and vehicles.

So, mechanical engineering is much bigger than just automobiles—it covers all kinds of machines and how they work!

Hello Naveen,

With a JEE rank of 284,576 , getting admission in top government colleges for Mechanical Engineering will be very challenging due to the high competition and limited seats. However, there are good private and deemed universities where you can seek admission. Here are some options to consider:

  • Private Universities:

    • Amity University

    • Shoolini University

    • Manipal Academy of Higher Education

    • SRM Institute of Science and Technology

  • State Private or Deemed Universities:

    • Lovely Professional University

    • Chandigarh University

    • Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT)

  • Other Options: Some state-level engineering colleges and universities may offer seats through state counseling or management quota.

Mechanical engineering cut off

SEJAL JAIN 5th Sep, 2025

Hello

Mechanical Engineering is a popular branch, so cut-offs can be high.
Top IITs usually have closing ranks under 5,000 for general category.
NITs have a wider range, with ranks going up to around 22,000.
Cut-offs change every year depending on seats and competition.
It’s best to check the latest official counselling data before applying.

How can I calculate my polycet rank card with marks

Poludasari Akhila 5th Aug, 2025

You can predict your AP POLYCET rank by using the marks vs rank table on Careers360. For example, scoring between 115 and 120 marks may give you a rank between 1 and 20. If you score 110 to 115, your rank might be 21 to 100. Similarly, 100 to 105 marks roughly equals rank 200 to 1000, and 90 to 100 marks may give rank around 1000 to 2000  . Careers360 also offers a COLLEGE PREDICTOR tool where you can enter your estimated marks and category details to see which colleges and branches are likely for you  . This helps plan counselling choices and know realistic seat options.

which is best Mechanical engineering in nit nagpur or ece in NIT Raipur or CSE in iiitdm kancheepuram

Prachi Kumari 22nd May, 2025

Hello,

All three options are good but depend on what you want.

  • Mechanical Engineering at NIT Nagpur is good if you like machines, engines, and designing things.

  • ECE at NIT Raipur is good if you like electronics, communication, and circuits.

  • CSE at IIITDM Kancheepuram is best if you like coding, software, and computers.

If you want a better future in tech and jobs, CSE at IIITDM is generally more in demand. But if you prefer core engineering fields, then Mechanical or ECE are good choices.

So, pick based on your interest and what career you want.

Hope it helps !

i got 70 Marks in tg ecet 2025 what is my mechanical branch rank and integrated rank

kumardurgesh1802 21st May, 2025

Hello there,

Estimating your exact rank in TS ECET 2025 with 70 marks for the Mechanical branch and your integrated rank is challenging before the official results are out, as ranks depend on various factors like:

  1. Overall difficulty of the exam: A tougher paper generally means higher ranks for the same score.

  2. Number of candidates: More test-takers can push ranks higher.
  3. Topper's score: This significantly influences the overall rank distribution.
  4. Tie-breaking rules: If multiple candidates score the same, specific rules (like marks in engineering subjects, then Math, then Physics, then age) determine ranks.

However, based on previous years' trends for TS ECET (including 2024 expected trends) , here's a general idea for 70 marks:

For Mechanical Branch Rank (TS ECET):

  • A score of 70-79 marks in the Mechanical Engineering stream typically falls in the range of 801 to 1000 for the branch-specific rank.

For Integrated/Overall Rank (TS ECET):

  • For an overall score of 70 marks , the integrated rank in TS ECET is generally expected to be in the range of 1501 to 2000 .

Important Note: These are estimates based on past trends and can change. The official TS ECET 2025 results and rank card, which will be released by TSCHE (JNTUH), will provide your precise ranks. The result is expected to be released by the end of May or first week of June 2025 .
