Mechatronics Engineering
Hello Aspirant!!
Admissions in Sastra University is based upon 2 categories.
1st category: 85% of total seats are filled upon by the JEE mains marks and the 12th marks.
2nd category: Remaining 15% of the seats are filled only based upon the marks secured in the 12th grade or PUC or intermediate 2nd year or any other equivalent boards.
You have secured 87%, a decent percentage in 12th std. But you didn't mention whether you have written JEE exam or not.
So, you can claim a seat in category 2 , but only 15% of the seats are filled through it. If luck praises you, you can also get a seat through category 2.
There are slightly less chances for getting a seat through category 2. If you have written JEE MAINS, you can opt a seat through category 1 also.

And you also use the college predictor to predict your college according to your percentile, if you have attempted JEE mains exam

Hello,
Last year the cut off for admission to Mechatronics (SS) in Thiagarajar College of Engineering (Autonomous),Tirupparankundram for BC category is 9413. Considering the cut off you do not have chances to get seat in Mechatornics in the preferred institute. However, you have chances of getting seat in Civil Engineering (SS) in the same institute. The cut off is 15155. Cut off changes every year depending on total number of candidates applied, highest score, previous year cut off etc. To know more colleges in which you have chances of getting seat you may use our TNEA College predictor tool

hi,
see you can give gate exam on any paper apart from your graduation branch streams. candidates are eligible to apply for any of the gate paper , irrespective of their stream in engineering. so you may appear in gate exam from Computer science stream. now coming to college admission for m.tech, some of the institute are strict about the b.tech streams for admission to m.tech. like iit Kharagpur offers m.tech cs admission to only students of b.tech cs back ground, where iit bombay offers admission to any branch of students appearing for gate in cse stream.
so you need to check the eligibility once the results out and counselling begins.
hope you understand.
SASTRA take admission for stream 1 it take admission based on 12th percentage and score of JEE mains and for stream 2 based on the normalized aggregated marks +2 or its equivalent marks. This is for 30% of the total seat.
A first rank student of each board is considered to have obtained 100% mark and aggregate mark of all other students of the board is normalized with reference to that of the first rank student. For example, if the first rank is 97% and an applicant’s aggregate is 90% then the applicant’s normalized percentage is 92.78 (90/97 x 100).
