Mechatronics Engineering
Hello aspirant,
There is no GATE paper code for Mechatronics. You can either apply for Mechanical Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering to apply for the GATE exam. The paper code for both of these is ME and EC respectively.
It makes more sense to apply for GATE ME than other subjects as you'll have to take double the effort to study and pass the exam. As you do not have a background in EE applying for PSUs might be difficult, because the minimum educational qualification related to the respective stream will be considered and asked for at the time of recruitment.
You might have better opportunities if you apply for the Mechanical Engineer post at PSU through your GATE score after clearing the ME paper code.
I hope this information helps!
Thank You!
To begin with, let me congratulate you for securing such a strong score in the JEE Mains.
To answer your question in the very beginning, YES you can get admission in SASTRA University in your desired field of B.Tech Mechatronics. However there are a few things that are noteworthy and demand your attention.
To give you an introduction, The Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, also known as SASTRA, is a private and deemed-to-be university in the town of Thirumalaisamudram, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the top engineering colleges in India with a ranking of 37 given by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2020.
Among the several courses in B.tech offered by SASTRA, Mechatronics is a wonderful one. Divided into 8 semesters, the courses is of 4 years duration. The fees is within the range of 6 lakhs. Also note that the admission processes have not yet begun!
Coming to the most important part, i.e. Eligibility criteria:
The admission guidelines are as follows:
This is all the information that you require. I hope you make it to your dream college. All the best for your future endeavours.
Dear aspirant,
As you have mentioned about the mechatronics branch so I would judge the college on the basis of three main things which are placements , faculty, infrastructure.
Firstly about placements undoubtedly Chandigarh university does have an upper hand over parul university if placements is considered. Various multi national companies visit the campus like Amazon, microsoft and other tech giants whereas in parul university the placements are a bit lower and bulk hiring companies comes for placements.
For faculty and infrastructure , both the colleges have an equal score in that. Well educators teach in these institutions.
hi,
see mechatronics engineering is a interdisciplinary streams and considered under the child trade of Mechanical engineering. generally students who has completed diploma in mechanical engineering are eligible to apply for b.tech in mechatronics engineering. after completing your diploma in electrical and electronics engineering you are eligible to apply for b.tech in eee/ electrical engineering. however the eligibility criteria may differs as per institutions. so before apply to any college check their eligibility criteria.
list of college name which offer b.tech in mechatronics engineering:
MIT Manipal - Manipal Institute of Technology
LPU Jalandhar - Lovely Professional University
Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore
School of Engineering, UPES Dehradun - School of Engineering University of Petroleum and Energy Studies

Hello student,
It's difficult to predict the exact possibilities of admission. It depends upon the lot of factors such as the number of students appeared, the number of students qualified, the exam pattern, whether you belong to any category or not. Cut-off varies from state to state.
You haven't mentioned the category you belong to. So, considering you as a general candidate it's possible to get cse. Depending upon the last year's data, you can get good nit last year the closing cutoff of NIT raurkela was 2529.
To get an better idea you can check the link mentioned below
