You need to seek admission in to any other college offering the preferred course as the course you are looking for is not being offered in COEP. With 97 percentile which is quite a good score you can get CS in various NITs which is a good sign.The placement opportunities for CS in most of the good NITs are quite high and the salary packages rises to as high as 15 LPA which is quite a good option for the career prospects and job opprtunities.With this percentile opt for CS.

The eligibility criteria of TANCET are

• Candidates must have passed their B.Tech/B.E. from a recognized institute in the relevant field.
• Candidates must have secured a minimum 50% score in the qualifying exam and for the reserved category candidates minimum required marks is 45%.

Also, if you have qualified GATE examination then you don't have to appear for TANCET. GATE qualified candidates are directly eligible for the counselling procedure. So, yes you can appear for your desired paper but your admission possibilities depends upon the score obtained by you in the exam.
