Mechatronics Engineering
Hello,
To secure admission you need to secure the cut off rank. The cut off rank is going to change each year based on factors like difficulty level of examination, total number of candidates taken the exam and total number of seats to be filled. Here is the previous year cut off for admission to preferred branches
Manipal University, Jaipur
Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal
To get admission to CSE in MIT, Manipal you need to score above 200-220 marks or above. To get admission to Mechatronics in MIT, Manipal, CSE and Mechatronics in Manipal University Jaipur you need to score minimum 150-180 marks or above. This is an estimated score. The original rank with these score may vary. Earlier the total marks for MET was 800 and this year it is for 240 marks. SO the marks vs rank trend changes. The marks vs rank trend for this year can only be determined after the rank/merit list is published. The merit list is expected to be released in the fourth week of June 2021 tentatively.
Dear student,
If we see cutoff of Mechanical Engineering and its sub-branch then we find that the maximum rank at which a student got the seat in VIT Vellore with these branches is around 25,000.
You can check the detailed cutoff by clicking on the link below.
https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/viteee-cutoff
With the rank you have mentioned, unfortunately it seems like you may not get Mechanical Engineering and its sub-branch in the central campus of VIT.
But you have some chances to get Production Engineering which is very similar to Mechanical engineering. In the recent previous year the cutoff for Production Engineering in the same college was around 53,000.
Please note that cutoff varies every year as it depends on various factor like difficulty level of exam, total number of seats, number of students appeared in examination and so on.
You can also try for other campus of VIT, and there you have very fair chance that you can get Mechanical branch.
To check the cutoff of other center of VIT, you can visit the link below.
I hope this answer helps you.
All the very best!
Hi Aspirant!
There is no GATE syllabus for Mechatronics Engineering graduates. But you can always write GATE either via Mechanical engineering (ME stream) or by ECE paper in GATE. I will suggets you to write it through ME paper. And you can pursue M.Tech from IITs such as Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Kanpur and Kharagpur in robotics engineering. And there are also some PSUs which hire mechatronics candidates through GATE ME such as BHEL etc.
Thankyou!
With 16227 Rank in VITEEE, I believe you have fair chances in securing Mechanical or Mechatronics in VIT Vellore, preferably under Category 1 of Counselling. If not Category 1, I believe you surely have chances for ECE, Electrical or Mechanical under Category 2 and must keep your fingers crossed.
VIT is one of the Top Private Universities having excellent faculty, infrastructure and placements prospects, besides having a strong currciulum providing effective technical education.

hi,
see there is very few institute in India offers m.tech course in robotics, among iits/ iisc, IIT kanpur has m.tech course on robotics and automation. however eligibility conditions states the students from background of Aero Engg, Comp Sc, Elect/Electro/Comm Engg, Mechatronics/Instrum Engg are eligible to apply.
however you may follow the below link to know about the complete list of college name which offers m.tech in robotics engineering:

Dear aspirant,
As you have mentioned that you have got 87.59 percentile in met -21 April session. I would request you if you have the rank then kindly mention your rank in the comment box so that I can give you more detailed and accurate information about your chances to get into mechatronics. Generally , the mechatronics branch cut off stays around 20k.
For college cut off for previous years you can check out the link given below-

hi...
It is possible but you would need to make up a large portion of the undergrad coursework from a mechanical / mechatronics degree.
Eligibility Criteria For Mechatronics Engineering Postgraduates:
The candidates aspiring to do a master's in Mechatronics Engineering should have a bachelor's degree in B.Tech or B.E. with a minimum average of 60% marks.
The students who are in their final year of bachelor's can also apply for the course.
Entrance Exams for Mechatronics Engineering
The main aim of conducting entrance examination is to check the student's ability and also the knowledge that is required to pursue Mechatronics Engineering course. By appearing for the entrance examination, the student's aptitude is checked in the examination. There is a list of many entrance examinations that are conducted by different colleges or universities out of which some of the important are mentioned below.
JEE Main - It is one of the most important entrance examinations for the students who aspire to do a course in Mechatronics Engineering or any other branches of engineering.
JEE Advanced -It is conducted to grant admission to different undergraduate engineering courses offered by IITs .
GATE - Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is mainly conducted to grant admission to the students who want to pursue a postgraduate course in engineering.
Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test - The main purpose of conducting this entrance examination is to grant admission to the postgraduate courses like M.E., M.Tech , and other courses. It is conducted by the Anna University in Chennai .
M.Tech Entrance Examination of Kerala University - The entrance examination is conducted for admission to the postgraduate courses offered by Kerala University.
There is two options for engineering course after completing Secondary School Leaving Certificate (sslc). your Son may enroll for diploma engineering course in mechatronics engineering or B.tech course in mechatronics engineering. In job and careers prospect it is best to go for b.tech course.
now the majority of college of tamil nadu including chennai takes admission to b.tech course by TNEA counselling or entrance test conducts by institute it self, TNEA counselling conducts by anna university. tnea is based on 12th score, students need to fill all the credentials and choice of colleges, based on their score college will be allotted.
However till now tnea counselling date has not released yet, I suggest you to keep following the official site and careers360 website to get latest updates:
