I am interested to pursue my career in the field of robotics. So,in these two ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION or MECHATRONICS which one best in ENGINEERING level or none of the above and GO WITH EEE itself

Shivani Chaudhary 26th Sep, 2020

B.Tech. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) is a 4- year undergraduate engineering course. It is a combination of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, mainly combining the electronics part for sensing with instrumentation engineering. This specialized branch of engineering helps to create, construct and maintain measuring and control devices and systems found in manufacturing plants and research institutions.

JOB PROFILE - Since B. Tech in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering course is concentrated on both electronic instrumentation and computer-related processes, it makes an Electronics Instrumentation engineer fit for both hardware and software industries, thereby opening many interesting channels for employment.

  • Graduates can seek jobs in public-sector companies such as Instrumentation Ltd., Bharat Electronics Ltd. and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. and private companies such as Honeywell and other IT companies.
  • They are recruited by a variety of industries in the various domain such as Design, Development, Automation, Control, Fabrication, Inspection, Quality Control, Maintenance and Service and so on.

Mechatronics engineering is a multidisciplinary study of the engineering/technology field that deals with the study of electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering, system engineering, and control engineering. Mechatronics engineering is a connection amongst technicians and engineers and gradually work from origination of a project to the culmination of the undertaking.

After finishing the Mechatronics Engineering degree, candidates can work on different aspects of technology such as control systems, artificial intelligence (AI) and expert systems, robotics, transportation, and computer integrated manufacturing systems and much more.

If we talk about India, there is a wide variety of career openings in Mechatronics Engineering graduates. Candidates can have a look at some of the job profiles/positions that a candidate can choose from after completion of a course in Mechatronics Engineering:

  • Computer System Analyst
  • Researcher
  • Robotics Test Engineer
  • Application Engineer
  • Supervisor

E&I(Subbranch of EEE) is the answer because instrumentation includes industrial processes and techniques of industrial automation. Other thing is that none of the single branch will include Robotics as individual subject in curriculum. May be in the above branches like EEE,EIE,CSE,Mech will include Robotics and Automation as a subject but it is not a robotics which a laymen thinks. It is industrial robotics.

Every branch is good but it depends on your interest what to choose for your future career.

HOPE IT HELPS.. ALL THE BEST !!

Is Chandigarh university is best for mechatronics engineering

Vipul Chaudhary 14th Sep, 2020

Hi there!

Now these are some of the many reasons why Mechatronics from CU might be a great option for you

Faculty- This is the most important factor which needed to be consider here. I am a 2016–20 Batch student from the same branch & there are some bitter truths I would want lay down- there are limited number of faculty present BUT does it affect your quality of studies not at all, Most of the subjects curriculum followed here is much updated with respect to the Industrial processes & are well inculcated to the students by the faculty present here.

Exposure- One of the most important aspect we fail to perceive is that the success in an individuals life is directly proportional to the fact that how much that individual is exposed to variety of situations, to whole lot of different people, creating a people oriented mindset & I’m pretty much sure you’ll be able to gain a lot more experiences whether it might be technical or in professional terms towards corporate sector through the kind of Opportunities & exposure that is being provided here.

I won’t be stating other aspects like the Labs, projects, industrial tie ups because i firmly believe the above two mentioned points are the only major concern should be there in a student’s mind.

Thank You.

ARYAN SAGAR 12th Sep, 2020

With this rank you can get branches like metallurgy, mining etc at NITs like Raipur, Jamshedpur etc and dual degrees in NITs like Rourkela. But if you want branches like CSE, ME, EE, ECE etc you can surely opt for NITs like Agartala, Silchar etc. Also your home state plays an important role in getting any branch in nit .
