Honestly you should go for B.Tech.

Computer Engineering and Science has come up in a big way in last 2 decades. Everyone is eyeing career in and around cloud computing, big data, Machine learning and many other IT solutions which are driving the entire globe. Raising company like amazon has the largest fund with the biggest share of computing in global market.

please advice. How is mechatronics stream at Thapar, from perspective of projects/lab exposure and from perspective of placements. there is very minimal information on their website.

Mechatronics engineering is basically a multidisciplinary branch of engineering that focuses on the engineering of both electrical and mechanical systems, and also includes a combination of robotics, electronics, computer, telecommunications, systems, control, and product engineering.

It has much to offer as far as the career prospects are considered. Mechatronics engineering will be a key contributor to the industry as robotics and automation is highly demanded.

Hello,
Btech in Mechatronics is a r years undergraduate course which is a hybrid course. You get to learn subjects from Computer Science, Electronics engineering, Mechanical engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

You can appear for GATE exam and go for a master's degree in IITs, NITs , IISc and even some University in Germany and Singapore accept GATE score for admission into Masters.
You can also go for jobs after GATE exam in DRDO and ISRO if your skills are really good.

Mechatronics engineering is a multidisciplinary branch of engineering that focuses on the engineering of both electrical and mechanical systems. It focuses on different aspects of mechatronics like modeling, real-time computer interfacing, sensors, controllers and actuators. After completing the course graduates can work on different aspects like sensing and control systems, automation and robotics, artificial intelligence and expert systems, transportation and vehicular systems and computer integrated manufacturing systems.
