my marks in neet 2020 is 590 will I be able to get esic medical admission

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 24th Sep, 2020

Admission to ESIC Colleges happens through All India Quota, State Quota and IP Quota.

Through All India Quota, 15% of the total available seats will be filled up based on the reservation policy and procedures of the Central Government.

Based on the location the ESI Medical College is located in, the seats will be filled through State Government Quota as per the policy of the State. Admission to these seats is based on the reservation policy of the State.

The remaining seats after allocation of All India Quota and State Quota are treated as Insured Persons Quota comprising of seats pooled together on All India basis from various ESIC Colleges. These seats are filled by the wards of Insured Persons on All India Basis. These seats are filled on the basis of merit cum preference basis. You haven't mentioned under which Quota are you trying, which State do you hold hte domicile of and your Category. But with a score of 590, you can secure a seat in ESI Medical College. Having said that, this is based on 2019 data and cut offs change every year. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. I am a native of Odisha. However, I have been staying in Bangalore for more than 15 years and my child has done his entire education in Bangalore. For Medical admission under Karnataka state quota, do I need to produce a Domicile certificate issued by state authority..or Study certificate will do ?

Siddhi Shenoy 20th Sep, 2020

Hello Kshirod Samantara,

For applying in medical course, there are certain important documents required during counselling session. The main document is the domicile certificate if you are applying for a state quota seat. The study certificate may be carried but make sure that the domicile certificate is issued to avoid issues later on.

Good luck and stay safe!
