is it necessary to fill status retention form even after last round of counselling in NEET admission process(I got seat in 2nd round but got no change in mop up 1&2 rounds)?

harshitasharansrivastava Student Expert 17th Jan, 2021

Hello Dear,

You haven't mentioned the State in which NEET Counseling you want to know. If you do not fill the Status retention form, the seat will not be retained and then you get to participate in the Mop Up Round.

According to the admission brochure.

"A candidate who is selected in first or subsequent round of selection process but does not join the college or cancels the admission after joining, it will be presumed that such a candidate is not interested in the admission process and for all further CAP round(s) including MOPUP round(s) of admission. Such candidate shall not be considered for allotment of any seat during NEET UG 2020 admission process through CAP round.

Good Luck

ginnisachdeva02_9364270 Student Expert 13th Feb, 2021

Hello,

As per the guidelines of NEET 2021 counselling, the security amount of 10,000 INR will be adjusted with the first year fee of the college/program, if candidate has alloted and joined the seat. So, as you said that you have joined the seat then your security amount is adjusted with the first year fee which you have paid.

Hope it helps to clear your dilemma, thankyou!

Ayush 16th Dec, 2020

Hi candidate,

The choices or precisely the locked choices are submitted before the start of counselling rounds and depending on those choices a candidate is allotted a seat from his selected list of colleges.

After each round of counselling, the candidate gets options like slide, freeze and float and has to select one of them to participate in further rounds.

Hope that this answer helps you.

in choice filling list at the time of counseling how can i sort them.... (for any entrance exam... please teach me the choice filling rule)

Swarnabha Das 12th Nov, 2020

Dear aspirant

First of all I am explaining you in short the rule of choice  filling.During choice filling you can put any no of choices there and sort them according to your facvourable interest . In every round you will be allotted only one department of one college . According to your sorted choice list the top most available choice with vacant seats will be given to you . If you are happy with that then you lock that and get admission. Otherwise you upgrade. If any of the preceding choice's  seat  becomes vacant then you will get than otherwise you get the allotted seat given to you from the previous round. That's how it works. So choice filling and seat allotment is very vital.

So if you have already selected upgradation then you can't take admission now . Because if you get a new allotted seat then the allotted seat of the previous round will of be no use .

Admission can be done if you confirm the allotted seat given to you and don't upgrade further . Then you go to your respective institution with all the documents and get admitted.

So you must sort your choices according to your priority list. Like you should put your most favourite choice at the first position of thr list and then the 2nd favourite choice in the second position etc.
