Medical Admission
Manu , In 2019, under State Quota, 487 marks secured a seat in Ashwini Rural Medical College under Regional OBC Quota. That was the cut off. And 497 marks secured a seat in Sinhgad Technical Education Societys Smt Kashibai Navale Medical College under State Quota. This is 2019 data. And if this will be relevant for this year or not needs to be thought about. Because this year things are slightly different.
To give you a brief, all this while, Maharashtra had 70-30 Regional and State reservations. The State Quota seats were filled divided into 70% Regional quota and 30% State Quota. The 70% Regional quota seats were reserved for Candidates belonging to Vidarbha, Marathwada and Rest of Maharashtra. And the Constitutional quota of Maharashtra was for Candidates belonging to SC, ST, Vimukta Jati/Denotified Tribes, NT-A,B,C,D and OBC. NT-B falls under OBC Category.
Now this has been quashed and it is one Maharashtra one reservation. This is going to considerably increase the cut offs as the no.of Candidates vying for each seat would increase. Compared to 2019, the NEET 2020 cut offs have changed considerably higher than expected. With the top score being 720 which is 19 marks greater than 2019's top score, it is difficult to predict chances. But the OBC cut off for GMCs is expected to be around atleast 560 and above. Now, There's a common misconception that, you have to read a lot to get a good score or a set a seat in any government medical college. I am not saying that hard work doesn't pay off, sure it does. But there are some tips and tricks so that you can enjoy the journey.
A. NCERT : For biology, first you have to finish your NCERT Biology if you are preparing for NEET! Most of the questions in NEET directly comes from NCERT.
B. ABC of Biology: you can use this book, as a reference. But at first, finish NCERT.
C. For detailed explanation you must follow SC Verma and GRB Bathla’s Publications in a regular basis.
D. MCQ: For mcqs, solve MTG'S Biology at Your Fingertips. It's completely based on NCERT and there are some extra points which are important for a better understanding of the subject. You can also use Trueman’s Biology – Vol 1 and Vol 2 in this regard. And one more thing, for MCQs don't forget to practise Dinesh Objective Biology rigorously.

One thing keep in mind that Chemistry is the most scoring subject in any competitive exams. So for extra-ordinary performance in any exam you should be very talented, detailed-oriented and well-resourced in Chemistry.
A. For inorganic chemistry, you can study NCERT thoroughly.
B. However for Physical and Organic chemistry, I'll recommend you GRB Publication , because they are accepted nationwide and you'll get very detailed explanation. Moreover O.P.Tandon and Arihant are the most useful books for scoring good marks in NEET. And particularly for Physical chemistry you should go through P.Bahadur and for Organic Chemistry (specially for Reaction Mechanism) you can use Morrison and Boyd.
