deepanshuj0108 Student Expert 26th Aug, 2019

Hello Aspirant,

After completing 10+2 EXAMS there are mostly 3 ways to join Merchant Navy

  • Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS)
  • B.sC in Nautical Science
  • B. Tech (Marine Engineering)

As you mentioned in the question, you have done BBA now if you want to join merchant navy you have to do anyone of the above mentioned courses.

Here are some common eligibility criteria for both the courses:

  1. The Candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any kind of bodily effect which can interfere with efficient performance at sea.
  2. Eye Sight should be 6/6 normal in each eye separately(Nowadays if a candidate is not having 6/6 eyesight he/she can opt for lasik surgery and get its eyesight corrected before joining course.
  3. No Colur Blindness should be there in candidates sight.
  4. The Candidates age must be less than 25 yrs prior taking admission

I get called for ssb in bhopal for btech entry in navy. Is it possible to change the centre for ssb? Will they give accommodation to parent?

tanmoymunshi1999_9606691 Student Expert 10th Aug, 2019

Hey Maneesh,

You can't change the SSB center if the SSB center is not done by your choice. They will choose where you need to go for SSB. The allowances will be given for transportation only for you and maybe there will be no allowances for the parent's transportation. As far as I heard of it only one family members ticket will be paid by the Navy. There will be no Accomodations to the candidate's parents they have to arrange by there own. And the criteria for BMI and other fitness-related pieces of information are given in the there official site.

Hope that helps

all the best
