Dual degree courses allow you to pursue two degrees simultaneously, which has certain benefits:

1. If you consequently find out that you are not interested in one of the degrees, you can choose to pursue the other one. There’s always a backup in case you just don’t see yourself working with the former degree in the future.
2. Two degrees mean you get to gain more knowledge! If your degree A complements degree B, which usually means that there is use or application of degree A in degree B and vice versa, then you will have a significantly better understanding of both the subjects, which is an awesome thing in itself.
3. And EVEN if it doesn’t necessarily have an application, you have a chance of having a slight edge over other single degree students during placements if the minor, degree B, puts skills in you that will be useful no matter what company you join, like Economics or finance related degree.

As far as the placements are concerned, dual degree placements are quite good at VIT (Vellore campus). I would suggest taking dual degree at Vellore campus only.
