National Eligibility cum Entrance Test
At 235 marks, it's nearly impossible to get a free MBBS seat or even a B-category seat in reputed government colleges.
However, you may have options in BDS, BAMS, BHMS or nursing courses in private colleges.
Hello
The Odisha NEET UG state quota counselling is conducted by the OJEE Board under DMET Odisha. For 2025, the registration for Round 1 starts on July 22 and ends on July 26, with the provisional merit list expected by July 29. The process includes multiple rounds: Round 1, Round 2, mop-up, and stray vacancy rounds spanning from July to September 2025.
With 412 marks, you have moderate chances for BDS, good chances for ayurvedic and veterinary, but low chances for MBBS under OBC quota in state counselling, depending on your home state.
Private MBBS might still be an option, but with high fees.
NEET requires Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects. If you did 12th with PCM, you can still give NEET by taking Biology as an additional subject through NIOS or a recognized board. After clearing Biology, you’ll be eligible for NEET if you meet the PCB percentage criteria.

good morning ,with 323 marks in NEET 2025, SC category, and Andhra Pradesh domicile, you meet the qualifying percentile (40th percentile, cutoff range: 143–113)2 so you're eligible for state quota counselling. However, securing an MBBS seat in a government medical college may be challenging or not possible, as SC category closing ranks in AP typically fall between AIR 30,000–80,000, which corresponds to scores around 480–510 whether you try state quota or all India quota seems to be not possible.
Here’s how you can still pursue MBBS:
1. Private Medical Colleges (B-Category or Management Quota)
These seats often accept lower NEET scores, especially in later counselling rounds.
Examples include:
Santhiram Medical College, Nandyal
Viswabharathi Medical College, Kurnool
Sri Balaji Medical College, Tirupati
2. Deemed Universities
Higher fees but more flexible cutoffs.
You may explore colleges like GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences, Visakhapatnam.
3. BDS or Allied Health Courses
If MBBS isn’t feasible, consider BDS, BSc Nursing, or Paramedical programs.
These have lower cutoffs and strong career prospects.
Hello Mahak
With a score of 244 and AIR 6,20,000 , it will be not possible to get a seat in a government medical college in NEET UG 2025 irrespective of your quota.
Even if you apply under defence quota or EWS or ESM Priority 4, you won't be able to clear the cutoff as the minimum marks required are 350-400 (Private colleges).

Hello Arun
With 389 marks and AIR 231089 in NEET UG 2025, the chances of you getting a seat in IMS and SUM Hospital Bhubaneshwar for MBBS are low for general category.
The closing ranks marks are much higher, as marks above 400 are generally required for getting a seat. But this year NEET was much harder, so there is still quite a chance. So just attend the counselling and be positive.
Here's more info about IMS and SUM hospital: IMS & SUM hospital by CAREERS360
Hope this answer helps! Thank You!!!
Yes, with 389 marks and an AIR of 231089 in NEET 2025, you do have a good chance of getting a seat at IMS and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar under the deemed university quota. Last year, students with even higher ranks got admission in the later rounds, so your chances look positive. Just make sure you register and participate in the counselling process properly.
