Naval Architecture
hello aspirant
YES in order to get admission in Naval Architecture in any IIT, you have to give JEE mains and JEE advance exam. But they are considered as one of the toughest entrance exams in india. The alternate options that would be to give other, much easier, entrance exams like IMU CET and AICET. These entrance exams will get you admission in NAval Architecture and are much easier also. You may not get a direct admission in Naval Architecture.
furthermore, the eligibility criteria for Naval Architecture is as follows :
Must have passed 10+2 from a recognized educational board with primary subjects of Physics , Chemistry , and Mathematics .
A minimum of 50% aggregate percentage is mandatory.
Further, to know more about the Naval Architecture course, in detail, you can follow the below mentioned link to know more : https://dqxeclau.top/courses/naval-architecture-course
I hope that this will help
See, between these two, the undisputed fact it that if you want to study intensively about ship designing, then Bachelor of Technology in Naval Architecture and Ship Building is the way to go. Almost 90 percent of the core syllabus of both the branches will be same, however the remaining 10 percent is where your interest lies, so if you chose the former, then you'll get more exposure to ship building and you'll learn more insights about the deeper mechanical technologies used to achieve them.
Hope I have answered your question. All the best!
B. Tech in Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding is a 4-year course for undergraduate students. It deals with the process of designing, maintaining, and using marine constructions.
A CET is held for admission to the four-year undergraduate engineering programme, B.Tech Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, which teaches students about the design and building of maritime ships and infrastructures.
Designing ships and ship systems is the focus of naval architecture. Offshore platforms, underwater submersibles, and other structures and systems in or near the ocean are all covered under ocean engineering.

Hello
For admission to its undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes, the Indian Maritime University administers the IMU-CET, or Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test.
Currently, B. Tech and various masters-level degrees in ocean engineering and naval architecture are offered by the Indian Institutes of Technology at Madras and Kharagpur.
Please refer this link for syllabus, Eligibility details and other information.

Hi There.
Naval architecture entails the planning, design, development, building, testing, maintenance, and launching of maritime vehicles. So if you wish to pursue a career in naval architecture, then you might consider these colleges other than iit .

All naval machinery is designed, developed, evaluated, and calculated through the process of naval architecture (NA). A naval architect specialises in all facets of maritime operations, including transportation, dredging, and offshore drilling, among others. Starting with the research and development, designing, building, and overhauling of the aforementioned devices, this field serves the shipping industry.
The major collages offering N.A or related courses Undergrad or Masters degree are:
US: University of Michigan, Texas A&M & University of New Orleans.
All naval machinery is designed, developed, evaluated, and calculated through the process of naval architecture (NA).
The usual engineering entrance tests must be passed in order to be eligible for a seat in a Naval Architecture undergraduate school. These entry tests for naval architecture include some of the following:
IMU-CET
AICET Main JEE
Hi Hari,
I hope you are good! IMU Vizag do offers B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering and you need to secure under 150 rank to have higher chances of admission. Your rank 789 is really too far for this. I suggest you to do some more hard-work with patience and practice your lessons more and more.
For BE marine in IMU Kolkata, you have really appreciating rank. The cutoff for GEN remains around 2000 and having rank 789 will always give you an edge for admission. If you are interested, my suggestion is to not leave such great opportunity.
I hope it helps!
Thank you!
The main courses that form the foundation of the B.Tech in naval engineering and ocean engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras are as follows:
Functions of Several Variables
Engineering Mechanics
Introduction to Programming
Thermodynamics
Introduction to Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering
Ship Hydrostatstics and stability
Ship Hydrodynamics
Strength of Materials
Ship Drawing and Calculations
Marine Instrumentation Lab
Marine Engineering
Analysis of Structures
Ship Resistance and Propulsion
Ocean Wave Hydrodynamics
Motion of Ships & Floating Systems
If you want to pursue your naval architecture from a good college, I would suggest you that you should look after gaining admission in top IITs for the same. As of now, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur offer B.Tech and other masters courses in Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture. I have included the cut offs for the same below:
IIT Kharagpur (Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture GEN 2021):
Opening Rank: 5663
Closing Rank: 7243
IIT Madras (Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture GEN 2021):
Opening Rank: 5512
Closing Rank: 7238
