in the chapter biomolecules (chemistry class 12), ncert, page no. 417, sucrose forms glycosidic linkage with alpha-c1 of glucuse and beta-c2 of fructose. but the numbering of the carbon atoms of beta fructose is different from the numbering on tge previous page. is that possible??

Akshita Dhiman 27th Jul, 2021

Hello aspirant,

No, it is not possible. The glycosidic linkage formed is between two -OH groups, each of glucose and fructose. The numbering given is the same. The orientation of the molecule in the book is printed in such a way so that the reader can understand the glycosidic linkage formed from the C2 of the beta fructose. Hence, there is no change in the numbering.

I hope this information helps!

Thank you!

To get the complete list of books go through

https://competition.careers360.com/articles/books-for-upsc-ias

*Make a routine or a time table and try to religiously follow it , take short breaks in between your studies.

*Read newspaper daily and keep yourself updated with the current affairs

* take short breaks in between your studies, studying continuously can be brain tiring and it becomes difficult to focus and study with concentration, so take breaks to relax and refresh your brain otherwise you won't be able to retain whatever you read.

*Choose your optional subject wisely , choose the subject you have interest in.

*Make short notes for each subject, it  will help you in your revisions a lot as syllabus is wide

*Set daily goals like I have to cover these many topics today, weekly goals like I have to  cover these chapters this week and practice their questions too, by the end of this week and similarly set monthly goals to cover the syllabus and meet them without any fail.

*Revise :- there's no point of preparing for the exam if you couldn't recall anything in the UPSC Examination so you should stress on revision as well.

* Your mains examination is in written, so you need to work your speed and also work on improving how to present the knowledge you have on paper, so answer writing practicing should be also your priority

*Solve previous year question papers and mock test papers ;- You should solve these , it will give you idea of types of questions asked and their difficulty level and will help you a lot.

*Also work on your communication skills and personality development as it plays an important role in your interview round

What was the cutoff in Aiims Kalyani in NEET 2020? What will be the expected cutoff for NEET 2022? My category is SC. If I score 580+ in Neet 2022 can I get Aiims Kalyani? And how should I prepare to get such marks. What is the strategy. Is Ncert enough for Physics?

Abhishek Roy 4th Sep, 2021

Yes with a score of 580+/720, being from SC Category you may definitely secure a seat in MBBS at AIIMS Kalyani. You will perhaps even have many other options, including some of the Best Government Medical Colleges in Kolkata, West Bengal under 85% Home State Quota. As far as Preparation is concerned, I wouldnt say securing 580 or anywhere above 550 is Tough, but you need a Proper Startegic Preparation. Strategic selection of study material, strategic routine for regular preparation as well as a strong test taking strategy is what'll lead to your success.

i am sc category student, ncert is sufficient for jee advance and as well as jee mains to get top iit from sc category.if not what marks is i have to take for getting top iit and top branch on what marks.please explain clearly (sc student)

Tanmay V 23rd Jul, 2021

Dear Aspirant,

NO NCERT alone is not sufficient for JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. NCERT might help build up basic concepts but to gain problem solving skills for questions of difficulty level asked in JEE Mains and Advanced some standard reference books might help. NCERT might help somewhat  in JEE Mains but for Advanced it won't help as questions asked in JEE Advanced are highly conceptual and require good amount of problem solving skills, approach.

Some standard books that all IIT-JEE aspirants use can be found here-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/best-books-for-jee-advanced

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-important-topics-books

Now coming to marks required,

See the exam pattern and total marks for JEE Advanced changes every year and students come to know about it on exam day only. Now it has been observed that scoring 30-40% of total marks of JEE Advanced paper 1 & paper 2 helps securing seat in IITs.Now considering sc category this much marks would surely help to get a good branch in top IITs.

Can I clear UPSC with only 6-12th NCERT? no extra books.

Aditi Yadav 23rd Jul, 2021
Hey Aspirant!

Straight answer- No .

As you have mentioned UPSC,so I am counting prelims, mains and personal interview also(all three stages).

6-12th NCERT are basic books. You will learn a lot from ancient history to modern history, from star, planets, sky, rotation, revolution to human and physical geography, from diversity, democracy, federalism, liberty, justice to Indian Constitution.

But this is not enough.UPSC hardly asks basic questions.Reading NCERTs is a must but along with that you need to read reference books like M Laxmikant for Indian Polity, History of Modern India,G C Leong,Ethics books, Environment and Ecology books etc.

You have to give lots of mock tests and must solve previous years question papers to get the correct idea about UPSC CSE paper pattern.

Final Words-

6-12th NCERTs are a must read but not enough for UPSC CSE preparation.

You can see the UPSC Syllabus and Previous Years Papers, and you will notice that reading reference books is a must for CSE Preparation especially for General Studies.

if i studied only ncert for bio how much ill get based on this year??

Maryam Sara 23rd Jul, 2021

Hi,

Since the change in the pattern of the questions has been observed in 2 years that is from 2019, nowadays the paper is 80% based on NCERT lines straight. So I suggest if you completely study NCERT by heart you will score 300 + easily.

Try to read  each and every chapter of NCERT with full concentration or you should read according to the weightage pattern.

You can check out the weightage on the link below:

chandni deb 22nd Jul, 2021

Dear Aspirant,

the questions asked in the JEE Mains Examination question papers is all dependent on the weightage scheme that is followed. Every topic of every in each of the subject have a certain weightage, depending on that, the questions are asked. This helps the students prepare accordingly for the examination, paying more attention to the topics having a higher weightage.

To more on the weightage on Chemistry, kindly visit the link provided below.
