For general quota with 589 marks in Neet UG 2020 what are the chances of seat in government colleges in AIQ and State quota..Please suggest with probable college names..

S. Saha Student Expert 1st Oct, 2020
589 is quite a good score so you have fair chances that you may get a government seat through all India quota. Now we don't know the state you belong to. So only possible colleges through all India quota can be told. Going by last year's cutoffs and your score, you can expect-
  • Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences
  • ESIC MC, Gulbarga, Karnataka
  • Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences
  • Mindapore Government Medical College, WB
  • Bankura Sammilani Medical College.
  • Murshidabad Government medical college
  • Malda Government medical college
  • Lala Lajpat Rai Medical College
  • MotiLal Nehru Medical College
  • GMC Kannauj, Jalaun, Banda
  • Government Dharmapuri Medical College, Dharmapuri
  • Government Sivgangai Medical College, Sivagangai
  • Government Villupuram Medical College, Villupuram
  • Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College, Jhansi etc .
The list is quite long. However this is based on previous year cutoffs and this year it might change. So I would suggest you to use Neet College Predictor tool to know about your admission possibilities http://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

I am from kashmir.i got 502 in neet uG 2020.i have ews category. Is there ny chance of getting seat in mbbs collage. Or any chance of private seat in ASCOMS

Dr.Chhavi Srivastava 1st Oct, 2020
Hi , jammu and kashmir has 100% state quota and as per the marks you have mentioned you have fair chances of getting a seat in government medical college under state quota as last year least marks to secure a seat from OM category under state quota was 476 in government medical college rajauri.
And in ASCOMS sidhra jammu was 489 .  You can present your ews certificate at the time of Counselling to avail it's benefits .
Remember cutoff varies every year depending on number of students appearing in exam, difficulty level of exam, students scoring more than you and your category.

Rishita hari 1st Oct, 2020

Hello student,

Your predicted marks for NEET 2020 is about 371 and you are from UP under general category, So I would suggest you to go through the rank predictor link for better understanding https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-rank-predictor

The expected cutoff for the courses are

  • BAMS - 440+ for Government colleges 400+ for Semi Government and 350+ for Private
  • BHMS - 300+ should suffice because there are maximum private colleges.

So, with your rank you can try for private colleges.

I havent been allotted any college in 1st round of AIQ NEET UG 2020. My AIR is 58907(general category). All my choices are for mbbs. Should I go for round 2? Also if I exit from round 1 will still be eligible for the mop up round of AIIMS,JIPMER etc. (if yes what are my chances of getting AIIMS)

Pragya sarwaiya 9th Nov, 2020

Hi Sanika

Yes, you should go for second round of counselling if no college was alloted to you in first round

Since last allotment for first round was 619, second round is going to be more tough because there are many students between 550 to 600

Considering your rank- 58907, there is less chance to get into AIIMS.

But you can try for mopup round in case few seats are left vacant

Keep your hopes high

Best of luck

Hi, I am from Tamil Nadu and I have scored 400 in my neet ug 2020 in bc . Is there any possibility to get a seat in government-aided colleges

Kanith Sawkar 29th Sep, 2020

Hey aspirant,

Based on your marks, it seems difficult to get an MBBS seat under government quota either in government or private college. However, you may get a seat under management quota at private institutes like Trichy (SRM) Medical College which had a cutoff of 393 marks for NEET 2019. Sree Moogambigai Institute of Medical Sciences, Kanyakumari had a cutoff of 393 and Tagore Medical College, Chennai had a cutoff of 391 marks, these are some of the colleges where you may get a management seat.

You can find more about previous year's cutoff here: https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cutoff-tamil-nadu
