Hi Student

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR EWS :
Candidate's annual familyincomemust be less than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum. His family must not own more than 5 acres of agriculture land. The residential flat area should be below 1000 sq ft.

If you are eligible for EWS then you can change your category from General or Unreserved to EWS.

NTA does mention in its Information Brochure that Candidates cannot make changes to their application form once the correction window has been closed. NTA doesn't entertain any requests for changes to the application nor does it make any changes to the application on its own. And once the NEET results are declared and the merit list is prepared, the ranks are allotted based on the Category that you have chosen during the filling of application form. That cannot be changed. And so unfortunately, you cannot change your Category from General Category to EWS during Counselling.

In neet ug application form 2020 I filled another mail id in alternative option in the given form, irrespective of the mail id which is registered officially now I suspect that alternate mail id is used by someone else .how to tell NTA not to provide soft copy of the admit card in that mail id

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 15th Aug, 2020
NTA communicates all information online through the registered Email id and Mobile number which means that if you have registered with an Email id and Mobile number,  will get all information from NTA at the registered Email id and Mobile number and not the alternative Email id or alternative Mobile number. So unfortunately, there is no way that we can tell NTA not to provide any information to a particular Email id or Mobile number. What you can do is if check the Inbox of the alternative Email id to see if you have received in communication from NTA. Ideally you should not be receiving any communication from NTA because this is your Alternative Email Id.  But if you have been receiving mails, all you can do is unsubscribe yourself from emails from NTA.  That way you will not receive any communication from NDA all their might go to to spam while you still continue receiving information from NTA at your Registered Email Id as usual.

in neet ug application if once correction is done then can we again change one of any document as option is available there to edit??

Prajakta Parade 19th Jul, 2020

If there is any mistake, then you can correct it now, and not later . All candidates who had registered for NTA NEET UG 2020 and paid their fee can do corrections in both cases – whether NTA has sent you message on mistake in the form, or not.

how do we get to know if our neet ug application form 2020 is rejected or admit card will not come

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 2nd Jul, 2020

There are no set guidelines as to why would an application be rejected and so we cannot be sure of whether you will receive your Admit card or not. But the possible instances in which any NEET application might be rejected are:

  • If an incomplete application has been submitted.
  • The same Candidate has submitted different application forms
  • If the details mentioned in the application do not match with the document that you have uploaded.

Now in your case, it is your Father's name that has been mentioned wrong. Now entering your Father's name wrong will not affect the merit list. Agreed that you should mention the details as per the 10th marks sheet, but now, after the correction window has been closed, it is like being worried over spilled milk. We understand where your apprehensions are coming from. But when you filled up the application form, you also uploaded your 10th marks sheet and both the Application form and 10th marks sheet certainly have different names under Father's name column. But if you did not receive any notification or a mail from NTA regarding the uploaded document stating that there is a mismatch of details at both places, you are technically safe. So you should not be worried about this. NTA cannot over look the uploaded documents and that is why students get notifications regarding reuploading of uploaded documents. If you did not get any such notification, NTA must have considered it to be fine. So you do not have to worry about this.

My fathers name (ROHIT KUMAR BISWAS) filled in neet ug application form is same as aadhar card but in 10th marksheet is (ROHIT KR BISWAS). unsure if my admit card will come or not because this year we have uploaded scanned copy of 10th marksheet my form will be rejected or problem in counselling

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 30th Jun, 2020

Shakshi, this will not be an issue. Because for one thing, the Supreme Court did mention that Aadhar card cannot be used for Educational purposes. Which means that even if you have mentioned your father's name as in the Aadhar card but it is different in your 10th marks sheet. As this doesn't also effect the merit list when the ranks are released, it is till ok. But please get an affidavit stating that both the names Rohit Kumar Biswas and Rohit Kr Biswas belong to the same person and in fact they are the names of the same person. This will not create any problem during counselling or admission process because you have a supporting document. This is necessary because NTA has closed its correction window on May 31st and you cannot make any changes to your application form now. NTA also doesn't entertain any requests for changes in the application form. So the only next better thing is to get an affidavit done. A local advocate can get this done for you. You will get your Admit card and so do not worry about it at all.
