The Department of Management Studies (DoMS- NIT Trichy) offers a full-time, two-year MBA programme at the postgraduate level. The admission to this programme is based on percentile obtained by candidates in the CAT followed by GDPI process.
According to the data released, NIT Trichy admitted 115 students for the batch of 2021-2023. Similarly, the seat intake is expected to be somewhere around 120 only for the batch of 2024.
However, the institute follows the seat reservation policy as per the Government norms. Out of the total seat intake, some seats are reserved for candidates who belong to the SC, ST, and NC-OBC category.

The CMAT 2024 examination, for admission to the MBA/MMS program, is scheduled for May 15, 2024. Registration for the May session of ATMA 2024 is currently ongoing, with the deadline for application being May 3, 2024. Additionally, the ATMA 2024 exam for the May session is set to take place on May 11, 2024.

There is absolutely no compulsion to take BBA in order to pursue MBA. You can opt for any bachelor’s degree and later pursue your MBA as the eligibility criteria for an MBA is that the candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent from a recognised university.
You can opt for BA, BSc, B.com or even B.Tech.

There is not any issue even if you have science background and want to do MBA. If you have completed your graduation then you can directly take admission for MBA. Basically your stream does not restrict your eligibility. You just need to fulfill the percentage criteria.
