Organic chemistry
Hello,
Obviously there is no doubt that B.SC organic chemistry by Arun and B.S Bahl is really good. Beside this you may follow the NCERT chemistry text books for class xi and xii and Modern ABc of chemistry for class xi and xii.
Hope for best.
Thank you.
Hello Aspirant,
The admission criteria varies to each college so if you mention here the particular college you are asking about M.Sc. organic Chemistry then I can help you about it better.
Good Luck!
Asad, first things first, AIIMS MBBS has been scrapped off in favour of NEET exam. So admission to all of AIIMS branches across India will happen through NEET score through All India Counselling. There is no separate exam for AIIMS. So you will have to follow books that you study for NEET.
Chemistry Best Books:
NCERT Chemistry textbooks for Class XI and XII
Physical Chemistry by OP Tandon
ABC of Chemistry for Classes 11 and 12 by Modern
Concise Inorganic Chemistry by JD Lee
Dinesh Chemistry Guide
Practise books by VK Jaiswal, MS Chauhan and N Awasthi
For Physical Chemistry, Chemistry for NEET by Cengage Publications is a good choice. Oragnic Chemistry by Morrison and Boyd is a good book. For Inorganic Chemistry, GRB Concept of Inorganic Chemistry by OP Tandon is an ideal option.
Hi Neel,
Chirality is a property shown by carbon compounds. When you say a compound is chiral, what you re basically saying is that it has an asymmetrical structure. This means that there are an uneven number or structure of groups attached to either side of it. They are also non-superimposable.
Hello!!
You'll get almost ten questions from the organic chemistry.Concentrate more the topics covered in NCERT book.Read the reactions thoroughly given in the NCERT book and do not skip them. And never just memorize the reactions,Understand the mechanism involved.Dont ignore the chapters biomolecules,Chemistry in daily life, polymers etc..where there are chances to get direct questions from those chapters. And also organic chemistry needs constant practice.Use NCERT exemplar also in your preparation. All the best!!
Hi Amith,
Solomon & Fryhle is not required for NEET or AIIMS if you are dropper because you have to complete whole syllabus in 6 to 8 months. Instead of reading this book, you should watch YouTube videos for building concepts as it take less time.
Go with your basic textbooks and module of institutes. You should try solving MS Chauhan too. It will consolidate your concepts. For solving MS Chauhan’s elementary problems, you require majorly basic knowledge but for solving advanced problems in organic chemistry by the same author you need something bigger like Jagdambas organic chemistry.
Good luck..
