how is msc organic chemistry at jntuh?

roshni 1st Dec, 2021

Hello,

Hope you are doing great! Here's your answer!

Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Organic Chemistry is a two-year full-time course offered by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.

The best college infrastructure . Every department has its own block.

The staff and lecturers are friendly. They teach us well.

JNTU is a government university . The fee structure is too affordable for a normal family.for a regular student per semester the college fee is 10000 rupees and hostel fee it costs about 20000 per semester.

Whatever specialization you choose in Masters Organic/Analytical/Inorganic chemistry. Ultimately all analytical tools you will learn in Masters. But for employment purpose, organic chemistry then analytical chemistry don't take Industrial chemistry. Most of the pharma industries and R&D institutes will recruit organic or analytical chemists.

Hope it will help!

Thank you!

sir I want to take admission in plane MSc chemistry, bt i have doubt MSc organic chemistry is better than plane chemistry, ya MSc chemistry is good

aswathypadinjakkara 27th Sep, 2021

Hey

If you are more interested in molecules, compounds and all, its good to take organic chemistry. It mainly involves the scientific study of properties, composition, and structures of carbon-based compounds and their reactive properties. It is a blend of conceptual understanding and studying reactions to draw observations at a practical level and utilize it in the real world. MSc Organic Chemistry is a two year postgraduate degree.A course which has increased demands in organic chemistry in the fields of pharmacy and research.MSc Organic Chemistry are fascinated by the functioning of organic molecules.Msc Organic chemistry is the most opted options for specialization in the branch of chemistry.

markonikof rule in organic chemistry

Khushi Goyal 13th Sep, 2021

Dear Student,

Markovnikov’s rule is an empirical rule which is used to predict regioselectivity of electrophilic addition reaction of alkenes and alkynes. The Markovnikov’s rule states that with the addition of a protic acid HX to an asymmetric alkene, the acid hydrogen (H) gets attached to the carbon with more hydrogen substituents, and the halide (X) group gets attached to the carbon with more alkyl substituents.

Various practical applications of Markovnikov’s rule include Halohydrin formation (in alcohol and water), Oxymercurationand Demercuration and Acid catalysed hydration. These reactions are the laboratory usages of Markovnikov’s rule and are used in a variety of chemical processes.

In short,  Markovnikov rule indicates that hydrogen atoms in an addition reaction are attached to the carbon atom with more hydrogen substitutes

any advice to get good Mark in neet 2022 for organic chemistry?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 27th Aug, 2021

Hi

Your whole chemistry is divided into three parts :-

******* physical chemistry

*******  organic chemistry and

*******  Inorganic Chemistry

For organic chemistry ,  you don't need to directly mug up reaction , you need to first understand them, what you need to do is first go through the reaction and then go through it mechanism as well which will help you to understand how the reaction proceeds and then write two- three times the reaction and its mechanism on your own and then practice questions based on the same and you need to follow this process for every reaction in organic. Solve the ncert thoroughly.

------) Solve at least 80- 100 mcqs per chapter to master them.

-------) You should practice chapteterwise previous year question of your neet examination . Previous year question are the most important as it will let you know types of questions which are asked, also questions on the same concept are repeated very often so it will be of great help for you. There are many neet previous year chapteterwise question books available in the market like by Arihant/ mtg etc.

-------) Go through chapter-wise test and once you're done with the complete syllabus go through mock test series  , it will let you know your weak areas so that you can work on them and improve your score

BEST  books for neet Chemistry

*NCERT Chemistry textbooks for Class XI and XII :- Ncert chemistry is really good for Neet, go through all the solved examples, intext questions and exercise questions. For inorganic chemistry no need to follow any book in addition to NCERT

*Physical Chemistry by OP Tandon :- Best for practising and mastering numericals in physical chemistry

*MS Chauhan (Organic) :- It is a great book to clear all your concepts regarding reactions in organic, their mechanism etc

IMPORTANT CHAPTERS

The list of the most important topics or chapters which carry the highest weightage in NEET in your chemistry section is given below

*Coordination Compounds- 9%

*p-Block, d- and f-Block Elements- 9%

*Thermodynamics- 8%

*Equilibrium -6%

*Chemical bonding and molecular structure-5%

*Solutions- 5%

*Organic Chemistry: Basic Principles & Techniques- 4%

*Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers :-4%

*Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids-4%
