in jee main do we have to do only NCERT reactions of organic chemistry?? do we have to do some extras??

Anurag Khanna 3rd Jun, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See only the syllabus is based upon NCERT curriculum and question from any concept might vary so it is not guaranteed that any particular question can come from only any specific book because the concepts are same as present in NCERT but the questions might vary based on that concept and it's difficulty level. So to get good practice I am enlisting down some best books for preparation of JEE-Main 2021 for Chemistry and for other two subjects as well :-

@Physics

Concepts of Physics-H. C. Verma

Fundamentals of Physics-Halliday, Resnick and Walker

Problems in General Physics-I. E. Irodov

University Physics-Freedman and Young

Understanding JEE physics series-DC Pandey

Problem In Physics-SS Krotov

@Mathematics

Higher Algebra-Hall and Knight

Coordinate Geometry-S.L. Loney

Differential and Integral Calculus-N. Piskunov

Calculus and Analytic Geometry-Thomas and Finney

IIT Mathematics for JEE Main & Advanced-M.L. Khanna

Course in Mathematics for IIT-JEE-Tata McGraw Hill publication

Problems Plus in IIT Mathematics-A Das Gupta

Trigonometry-S L Loney

@Chemistry

Modern Approach to Chemical Calculations-RC Mukherjee

Organic Chemistry-Solomons and Fryhle

Concise Inorganic-J. D. Lee

Organic Chemistry-Morrison and Boyd

University Chemistry-Freedman and Young

Physical Chemistry-N Awasthi

Arihant's Practice Book Chemistry for JEE Main And Advanced-R.K Gupta

in class 11 i have not studied anything in organic chemistry except iupac naming.... so now can i start with class 12 organic chemistry as I have my school exams and have no time to study anything of class 11 ?

ayanmukherjee045 3rd Jun, 2021

Dear aspirant,

Personally, if I consider my case I myself had not studied chemistry in class 11 and I can also say that I haven't studied nicely in class 12 too(particularly in chemistry). But as your exams are near so you  have to manage your preparation by any means because you have to score atleast a decent in class 12th.

Secondly, if you are planning to give engineering entrances then you have to strengthen your class 11th chemistry because in all entrance exams , questions are asked from class 11th and 12th syllabus and in jee particularly almost 50-50 weightage is given to class 11th and 12th.

So,for exams of 12th you can start with your preparation with your 12th syllabus only ,no need to go for 11th but for engineering you need both.

i completed my 2nd pu 2021 , ive lack in chemistry especially in organic chemistry , do i fit for B pharmacy and M pharmacy ?

Karamvir Singh 23rd Jun, 2021

Hey Varshini,

If we come across the subjects in B.Pharmacy, there is a lot more chemistry especially organic chemistry. There are 3 parts of organic chemistry taught in three semesters. Apart from it, medicinal chemistry is also of 2-3 parts which wholly includes structures, reactions and stuff related to organic chemistry. Also, there is inorganic chemistry. If we see B.Pharmacy, the subjects are mostly oriented towards chemistry subjects and involves lab work and industrial work too. If you can improve your chemistry segment, then you can go and opt out for B.Pharmacy. If you are not interested in this subject, it will be better not to opt for B.Pharmacy as the subjects are mostly chemistry oriented, be it, physical pharmacy, industrial pharmacy, quality assurance or other subjects. If we come upon M.Pharma, there are a lot more specializations offered, but the basic chemistry methods are almost applicable to all Pharmacy subjects.

You can know about the subjects for Pharmacy in detail over here: https://dqxeclau.top/courses/pharmacy-course
