Find A×B. If A=-2i+2j-k and B = 3i+6j+2k.

Subhrajit Mukherjee 24th Mar, 2021

Given, vec(A) =-2i+2j-k

vec(B )= 3i+6j+2k.

Now A cross B =

i                j              k

-2             2              -1

3              6               2

=> A cross B = i(2*2-[-1*6])-j(-2*2-[-1*3])+k(-2*6-[2*3])

=> A cross B = 10i +j - 18k

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!

a police party is chasing a dacoit in a jeep moving with constant speed v. the dacoit is on a motor cysle. when he is at distance x from the jeep, he accelerates from rest at a constant rate alpha. is the relation v^2=2alpha.x is correct? how?

Ayush 28th Mar, 2021

Hello candidate,

Using the third equation of motion, that the square of final velocity is equal to the arithmetic sum of the square of initial velocity and 2 multiplied by the acceleration into the distance.

So, taking the initial velocity is equal to zero the expression becomes v^2= u^2+ 2*alpha*distance. So, the expression is perfectly correct.

Hope That this information helps you!!

Have a good day.

The work done by a force is given by the area of

ayanmukherjee045 22nd Mar, 2021

Dear aspirant,

The basic formula of work done by a force is equal to force into displacement but in vector it F.S cos theta. So if a force and displacement graph is given to you and so to find the work done by the force you need to find the area of the force displacement graph.

construction of working galvonometr

Ayush 4th Mar, 2021

Hello Candidate,

The galvanometer is a simple electrochemical device which is used to measure the supply of current in the circuit or in a loop.

Galvanometer consists of several divisions including main scale divisions and small scale division for accurate measurement of the current supply, when the fluctuations age produced in the device upon changing the voltage and other electrical parameters.

what would be the average duration of year if the distance between the sun and the earth becomes thrice the present distance twice the present distance

Pankhuri Kumari 28th Feb, 2021
Hii!
For such kind if problems we use Kepler's law. So, as per the equation - T = R r. R is the constant here which you want to put. So, if you put 2 in this equation in place of R, the answer comes to be 1032 days in a year. Similarly, if you put 3, you will get 1894 days.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!

find the expression for maximum height h and horizontal range r of a projectile

Ayush 22nd Feb, 2021

Hello candidate,

Projectile in general words can be referred to the path taken by any object while it is in motion in air before hitting the ground surface.

The formula for horizontal range of a projectile is given as, v^2 × sin(2 theta)/ gravity, for the maximum range the value of horizontal range is equal to v^2/g. The formula for maximum height is equal to v^2/2g.

Hope that this information was helpful for you!!

derive the formula of torque in term of MLT

Ronak Gala Student Expert 17th Jan, 2021
Torque (T) = Moment of Inertia Angular Acceleration . . . . (1)

Since, Moment of Inertia (M.O.I) = Radius of Gyration 2 Mass

The dimensional formula of Moment of Inertia = M 1 L 2 T 0 . . . (2)

And, Angular Acceleration = Angular velocity Time -1

The dimensional formula of Angular Acceleration = M 0 L 0 T -2 . . . (3)

On substituting equation (2) and (3) in equation (1) we get,

Torque = Moment of Inertia Angular

Acceleration

Or, I = [M 1 L 2 T 0 ] [M 0 L 0 T -2 ] = [M L 2 T -2 ].

Therefore, the torque is dimensionally represented as [M L 2 T -2 ].
