Is NEET counselling required for admission into Bacheolar of Physiotherapy course in Maharashtra? If yes, how to proceed? Please guide.

Devanshi Goyal 19th Jun, 2025

HELLO,

In Maharashtra , NEET is not always mandatory for Bachelor of Physiotherapy admissions, but it is increasingly becoming a requirements for some government colleges and institutions that offer BPT programs

Some private colleges may offer admission based on Merit list in Class 12th or through their own entrance exams

You can check Individual college websites - there you can check the admission criteria of the specific college you are interested in

  • If NEET is required make sure you have registered and appeared for NEET exam.
  • Participate in the NEET counselling process as per the guideliness of the authority
  • If NEET is not required check if the college conducts its own entrance exams or not .
  • If not apply to the college directly and submit your 12th class marksheet for merit based admission

Some colleges offer direct admission based on merit meaning your class 12 marks will be the primary and important factor.

Hope that Helps!

I wish to know the admission process for physiotherapy 2025 based on NEET

OISHEE BANERJEE 16th Jun, 2025

Hey aspirant,

If you'd like to pursue physiotherapy (BPT) with your NEET score, here’s how things work:

First off, yes — NEET is now required for BPT admission in many states and universities. Your NEET score is often used during counselling for both government and private colleges. You’ll need a minimum of 50 percent in PCB in Class 12 and be at least 17 years old to qualify.

Counselling usually starts a few weeks after results are announced. That’s when you register on either the MCC portal for national-level seats or your state’s allied health counselling platform. During registration, you’ll fill in personal and academic details, upload your NEET scorecard and 12th marksheets, then pay the counselling fee.

Next comes choice filling — you pick colleges and seats in order of your preference. After that, seat allotment rounds happen. If you get a seat, you download the allotment letter, pay the admission fees, and report to your college with the required documents.

If you miss government college seats, you can still apply directly to private colleges offering BPT. They usually have their own forms on their websites and accept NEET-qualified candidates. Admission in these colleges depends on seat availability during counselling or management quota rounds.

gopi 15th Jun, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

With a NEET 2025 score of 262, you have some chances for paramedical and allied health courses e.g. B.Sc Nursing and Physiotherapy in West Bengal, especially in government or private colleges as per the 85% State Quota. For BDS (Dental), the cutoffs are considerably high, and maybe little difficult in Govt colleges - but you may have a chance in private dental colleges in the SC category. What was the new curriculum in physiotherapy in 2025?

Previa Gayu 11th Jun, 2025

The revised physiotherapy curriculum introduced in 2025 emphasizes holistic skill development and hands on learning A large part of theory is now delivered by physiotherapy experts rather than general faculty Practical sessions and vivas count towards assessment in over half of the subjects The curriculum now includes psychology sociology ethics evidence based medicine and research methodology to broaden the understanding of patient care The core subjects such as anatomy physiology biomechanics electrotherapy exercise therapy orthopaedics neurology cardiopulmonary physiotherapy and community rehabilitation remain central but are now taught with an integrated behavioral and social perspective A separate module called COMPEL covers communication professionalism ethics research leadership management and lifelong learning However some experts have raised concerns that the curriculum still uses outdated or disrespectful terminology for people with disabilities and could better reflect inclusivity in terms of admission policy and respectful language
