Any individual who has passed 12th with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry subjects with minimum 50% aggregate is eligible for this course.

Admission to this program, like most B.Tech. programs, is through an entrance test. However, there are certain universities which may allow merit-based direct admission.


ENTRANCE EXAMS

 There are many colleges which set entrance exam as a criterion to get into this course. Entrance exams questions are mainly from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and the difficulty level is of 10+2 level.       

  Two entrance tests is listed below:


1.Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)- The combination of marks scored in 10+2 level examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination.is considered for admission in this course. JEE Mains application forms are released in the month of December and the examination is conducted in the month of April.

2. State Entrance Examinations – Some engineering colleges also admit students who qualify entrance exams conducted by various State Technical Education Boards, such as MH-CET which is conducted for admission to engineering colleges in Maharashtra


DIRECT ADMISSIONS


Many engineering colleges in India also offer direct admission to the program on the basis of marks scored in 10+2. Some of these institutes are

Your cutoff is 160 in MBC quota and you are asking a seat in either Printing Technology or Rubber Technology in Anna university CEG or MIT campus.Well my answer is it is hardly difficult for you to get placed in either of these colleges.I hope this helps you

Eligibility for M. Tech. in Textile Technology & printing technology

Candidates wishing to apply for the course need to meet the following minimum eligibility criteria:

A minimum aggregate score of 55% at the level of graduation (B.E./ B. Tech. or equivalent subject) in a relevant discipline completed from a recognized institute. (For IITs and ICT, the minimum percentage required is 60% at the level of graduation).Besides a GATE qualification, candidates need to have completed graduation in any of:Textile TechnologyFiber Science and TechnologyTextile ChemistryTextile EngineeringComputer Engineering Fashion & Apparel EngineeringJute and Fiber TechnologyCandidates having a Master’s degree in Chemistry or Mathematics are also eligible to apply.Candidates awaiting their final year’s exam results can apply too on a provisional basis. Mechanical engineering is one of the most toughest branch of engineering still the placement opportunities for mech are very less in India as compared to CSE or ECE though there are many big companies that hire mechanical engineers but the IITians made the competition even more difficult but I would suggest you to for mtech in mechanical and most of the companies prefer pg students over btech students.
Some of the companies in India that recruits mechanical engineers are,
General Motors (GM),General electricals (GE), Tata motors, Hero motors, Mahindra Cummins Daimler Schlumberger NTPC, Coal india ,Vedanta Bosch
