i want to be a professor so after bsc nursing i have to do msc nursing is it necessary to do phd to become a professor and to become a professor for which exam i have prepare and while doing msc nursing would i be able to earn or not during my msc nursing

Vasundhra 19th May, 2025

Dear Candidate ,
To become a professor in nursing you must complete B.Sc Nursing followed by Msc nursing to become an assistant professor . While a PHD is not mandatory initially , it highly recommended and often required  for promotions in most universities . You may need to qualify exams like UGC -NET or university specific requirement tests , especially for teaching in central or state universities . During M.Sc. Nursing , you can earn through part-time clinical work , teaching assistant roles , or stipends offered by some institutions .

How are semester exams in vit, Are the questions in the semester exams are the level of mains or from reference books and previous papers or from their modules What is the level of questions And are the questions tough as mains or professor notes and are they easy

Prachi Kumari 8th Apr, 2025

Hello,

Semester exams in VIT are mostly based on the class modules, lecture notes, and what professors teach in class. The questions are usually not as tough as JEE Mains. Most of the time, they are direct and based on what has been taught.

Many questions also come from previous year papers and sometimes from reference books if the professor has mentioned them. But overall, if you follow the class lectures, go through the module content, and practice from past papers, you can score well.

So, the level is moderate, not too tough, not too easy. Mostly concept-based, but not like JEE level tricky.

Hope it helps !

I dont want to know the average package or something else I believe the people itself responsible for the package.... I only wants to know that are the professor of this college is equal as compared to iits as they gave the same content like iits ???

Prachi Kumari 26th Mar, 2025

Hello Rishabh,

If you are asking whether professors in other colleges teach the same content as IITs, the answer depends on the institute. Some good engineering colleges follow similar syllabuses, but the teaching quality, research exposure, and depth of concepts may not always match IITs. IITs focus a lot on research, advanced problem-solving, and innovation, which may not be the same everywhere.

If you want information about a particular college, please ask your question by mentioning the college name and location etc.

Thank you !

I have filled ugc net as EWS category but qualified as assistant professor buy scoring above general category cutoff. Will I be considered as General or EWS?

kumardurgesh1802 10th Dec, 2024

Hello Animesh,

If you filled out the UGC NET application under the EWS category but qualified for the Assistant Professor position by scoring above the general category cutoff, you will be considered under the General category for further processing.

The category under which you qualify is determined by the cutoff score and the rules set by the examination authority. Even though you applied under EWS, if your score is higher than the general category cutoff, you would fall under the general category. Therefore, your qualification status will be recognized as General, not EWS.

However, it is recommended to double-check with the official UGC NET authorities or refer to their official notification for precise details.
