Quantum mechanics
The NTA UGC NET exam is a nationwide test used to assess a candidate's suitability for either Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor positions in Indian universities and colleges. Candidates may apply for the UGC NET if they have earned a Master's degree or its equivalent in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc. from a recognised university with a minimum grade point average of 55%. However, based on your request, I believe you are seeking for a bachelor's degree. In that case, you must take a standard engineering entrance exam, such as the State Jee or the Jee mains, and then select universities based on your preferences during counselling.
Hello Aspirant,
I hope you are doing well.
In order to study elementary quantum mechanics you must ideally have an understanding of the following mathematical ideas: Complex numbers. Partial and Ordinary differential equations. Integral calculus I-III.
Firstly, start by learning basic physics (Newtonian mechanics, electromagnetism, etc.),before learning quantum mechanics. Then, some mathematics like calculus I-III [single and multivariable with differentiation and integration], differential equations [ODEs], linear algebra and Fourier analysis.
Some resources:
I hope this helps.
Good Luck
In order to prepare for Quantum Mechanics for IIT JAM Physics,
Quantum Mechanics - By Zetili / Griffith / Schaum's Series
is one of the highly suggested books. This book is recommended if you want to gain a thorough knowledge of the subject.
However, there are other alternatives to this book which can be considered as well.
Thank you!
Hi Candidate,
It's great to hear that you have interest in Quantum physics and Quantum mechanics!!
If we speak about the stream related to quantum physics, Engineering Physics is a good stream to which a student can look for.
The future of Engineering Physics and Quantum mechanics is very high if we take Research Opportunities, and for higher studies. You might even get chances in Space organizations too.
Hope you have got your answer! Wish you all the best for your future.
Hello ayushjha1357,
Well, You have to choose One of Them for Under-graduation, to help you with your decision, I will suggest,
So, every thing depends on the above points(mainly first point), in the end, decision should be yours, choose wisely...
Hope this Helps,
All The Best, (You are going to ROCK! have faith on yourself and embrace whatever decision you take...), feel free to ask any further query...
Hello Abhishek swami, Short answer, for the most part, YES you can , but there are always few exceptions! There is lot of confusing among students that you need to have Masters or have done MS for applying to PhD . But, the reality is it is in fact a good idea to apply for PhD directly after B. tech or Bachelors degree
hope it is helpful for you :)
Hi Ayush,
Quantum mechanics, is physics at a microscopic scale. Quantum theory describes matter and energy at atomic and sub-atomic levels where classical physics does not apply due to wave-particle dual nature and the existence of the uncertainity principle.
It is useful for improvement in technology by developing Sensing, Secure communications, Computing technologies.
Feel free to ask doubts in the Comment Section.
I hope this information helps you.
Good Luck!
