Radiology
Hi,
BSc Radiology introduces the student to the basic bifurcation of the science of Radiology such as Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology. Diagnostic Radiology concerns itself with the use of X-Ray imaging and allied techniques for diagnoses of diseases and effects of injury on the body. Interventional Radiology deals with the use of invasive procedures for diagnoses and treatment with the employment of imaging technology (X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI). Students can pursue PhD or MPhil degrees to specialize in a number of allied fields like Diagnostic Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Vascular and Interventional Radiology Pediatric Radiology, Nuclear Radiology, Pain Medicine and Neuroradiology.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The proliferation of medical facilities and the Government’s thrust on health care promises a bright future for Radiology professionals. After successfully completing the program students can find direct employment in clinics, nursing homes, public health centers, hospitals, diagnostic centers and research sector. In such roles graduate scan start by working as apprentice to Senior Radiologists.
Radiology thrives on a number of scientific fields like Computer Science and Imaging Technology. This affords vast opportunities in the domain of research studies for researchers and scientists. Hence students can avail a ready source of a successful career in research institutions and academics.
BSc Radiology graduates can work in a number of job profiles such as Radiology Assistant, Radiographer, Radiology Technician, Radiologist, Ultrasound Technician, Sonographer, MRI Technician and CAT Technologist.
Scope of Radiology is increasing day by day. After, completing this course you can become Radiologist (MD), Radiology Technologists/ Radiographer, Radiology Technicians, Ultrasound Technician/ Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, MRI Technician, CT Tech/ CAT Scan Technologist/ CT Scan Technologist.
Hope this information helps you.
