The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) students are provided with accommodation facility at 15-block hostel complex with a total of 494 rooms. The hostels house a prudent mix of students from both batches of the management programme providing great opportunities for camaraderie. An elected student body also actively contributes to the management of the hostel. 

The participants of the 15-month Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management - Executive) - PGDM(RM-X) - reside in a modern housing complex. The complex has sixty fully furnished studio apartments equipped with a double bed, kitchenette with water purifier and a common area for recreation. The Fellow Programme in Management (Rural Management) - FPM(RM) - participants may avail accommodation in either hostels or the staff quarters. The hostels have access to high-speed, secure WiFi, LAN network connectivity and network printers.

Please Check the eligibility criteria for the same for different courses:

  • Diploma in Rural Management is a foundation programme that can be taken after passing the 10+2 level with a minimum overall percentage of 50%.
  • After completing 10+2 with a minimum overall percentage of 50% in any stream, you can apply for a B.A. in Rural Management/Rural Development.
  • Candidates for the postgraduate degree must have a minimum overall percentage of 50% at the graduate level from a recognised institute/college.
  • A candidate for a Ph.D. in rural management must hold a masters degree in rural management from an AICTE-accredited institution. Following that, you will be required to take an entrance exam as the first stage in the screening process.

is it important to have mathematical skills for rural management program?

Hi there,

Rural management program entails the socioeconomic development of the rural areas. The course focuses on the upliftment of the rural areas, hence basic skills like Strong mathematical skills, managerial skills, leadership qualities, analytical and reasoning skills are required. (The basic skills that are required for an MBA.) . These are necessary add-ons, the qualifications to pursue a degree in rural management do not necessitate the same. However, it is good to have these skills as we talking about rural development.

Minimum eligibility criteria

12th qualifying marks to be at least 50%

Qualified bachelors degree (BA/BSc) in rural management with at least 50% marks

Did Rural Management MBA has some special posts in govt. sectors or they have to compete with general MBA students?

Hello Karan ,

The program in MBA Rural Management offered at various institutes like IRMA have special postings in various NGOs , MNCs and you can also bag a government job too. It is dependent on the college you study in and what companies come for the placement process. But most of the time , they also have the same job opportunities as general MBA students but their jobs are specialized compared to the conventional MBA course provided in colleges.
