can i direct admission in Assam science and technology

Babita Rawat 6th Aug, 2025

If you want to pursue Undergraduate Engineering then no direct admission is possible, generally based on Assam CEE (Common Entrance Examination). But there is exemption that first rank holder in higher secondary is exempted from Entrance Exam. There are rare chances of applying this exemption for direct admission.

For Postgraduate admission are based on merit based or through their specific entrance test.

So, there's no direct admission in ASTU. If you are comfortable then you can go for other institutions that offers direct admission.

Jims rohini sector 5 vs maims bba

Nikita shahi 9th Aug, 2025

Hello,

Choosing between JIMS Rohini and MAIMS for BBA depends on your career preferences, location convenience, and the type of campus environment you want. Let’s break it down:

  • JIMS Rohini Sector 5 it's Known for its strong industry tie-ups, regular guest lectures from corporate professionals, active placement cell, and a slightly more flexible environment in terms of extracurricular activities. It has a vibrant campus culture with events, fests, and entrepreneurship cells.
  • MAIMS (Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies): Affiliated with GGSIPU, which means the syllabus is set by the university and the academic calendar is strictly followed. MAIMS is more disciplined, with better structured academics, strong internal faculty, and good library and research facilities. It’s well-respected among students who want to pursue further studies.

In terms of placements, both are competitive, but JIMS may have a slight edge in corporate networking, while MAIMS can give you an edge if you aim for academic excellence. Also, factor in travel time—long commutes can affect your overall college experience.

If you are looking for corporate exposure and networking, JIMS is the pick. If you want a more academic-focused, structured environment, MAIMS might suit you better.

Thanks, and all the best for your BBA journey.
